looking forward to seeing the tests!
since its Acer I'd be wary about the Overdrive function, in their recent displays they tend to fuck that up and make it too strong

They always could, they just didn't.
And btw. this is a slightly different version of the same panel technology, M270DAN02.1 is the 60hz, M270DAN02.3 is the 144hz version.
Apart from the (now discontinued) FG2421 panel there were 120hz MVA by AUO and even 240hz ASV panels by Sharp that were never used...
The problem with LCD and higher refresh rates is that smoothness goes up, but so does the ghosting. So you need REALLY fast response times like the TNs can do it.
Due to this even the 120hz Koreans do not look quite as clear in motion as a 120hz TN, people report. Knowing Acer they probably use an extremely aggressive Overdrive impulse to compensate and cause noticeable overshoot in the process.

144hz will not overheat computer in any way, only thing what it can do is make your GPU to output some annoying coil whine. Anyway, 144hz @ 1440p will be some serious task for your GPU´s, atleast 2x of absolutely top end GPUs is needed along with some serious CPU muscle (even they wont deliver solid 144fps). But since its a GSYNC monitor, you wont need solid 144fps to maintain smooth experience (tho then whole 144hz is absolutely waste).

Think about a price that would seem reasonable for a monitor like that... then double that because: Australia!
Feels too mean tho.

MSRP is 699€, and store price usually a bit lower..
Less than the Swift, which is basically useless now
Light AG, proper viewing angles, IPS colors, no overshoot - the Swift has only weaker Glow, ULMB at higher refresh and minimally faster pixel response times
