Cba... It will overvolt my CPU to unrealistic levels since im using adaptive voltage, settings have been rock solid for me in XTU/3Dmark/Cinebench and gaming, that is more than enough for me. Gonna try that when i search the absolutely maximum clocks with the H220X.

Ok...I just got this insane deal and bought brand new the 5930K ...Now..Im looking for the most reliable/stable motherboard with good OC properties/options and easy to use...It's been years I havent fiddle with overclocking so I need to dip into it again..

I was thinking Asus but maybe you guys have something better to propose.

I also want 16 gigs of DDR4..I was looking at Corsair Dominator ...maybe 2400/2666 kits..

What is the difference with the speeds and what is better or more natural to fit the MB specs..?

Finally a good water cooling kit would be nice..Any reliable suggestions..

Money is not the problem ...sorta..I figured I would upgrade now so I would be good for the next 3-4 years ..

Thanks for your input...Smile

I dont know for the X99 motherboards but I'd say that you will not experience any difference ever between 2400 and 2666 Mhz Ram except for a few points in that benchmark.

Yeah..I read about it for the speed differences..What about DDR4 -3000 ..

I was looking at more affordable memory and maybe would go for the HyperX 16GB (4 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000 (PC4-24000) Desktop Memory Model HX430C15PB2K4/16 which is still 400$ but less expensive than the Dominator from Corsair..

As for the motherboard, I might go with the Asus Deluxe as I read that it was one of the better ones right now..

Might also grab the H110 watercooling model from Corsair I believe..

Arrgghhh so many options and possibilities...And finally about the cpu...I was suppose to buy the 5920K instead but got the 5930K for 500$ ..Couldnt pass that deal as the other one would of came up to the same price ...

Hummm what to do... Scratch Head

P.s. Merci pour l'info Wink

Hey guys, finally went and bought my cpu, board, memory and water cooling system AIO. ( See signature).

All I can say is, wow, what an investment!!..So far, no issues whatsoever ..

Done my first kind of automatic overclock with Asus Suites and changed few settings in the bios ...Still running good thus far. I will be trying out games later on.

Does any of you know what good stress test program I could use to test my OC ? Something that will not like try to fry everything up in scenarios that will never be a daily use.

A good realistic bench marking that does not last hours. I mean if I give it like a 30 min to 1 hour testing that would indicate some kind of valid stability ?

I'm quite new at OC especially at all the new stuff that there is today...I've done it in the past but bean away for too long at it. So maybe good advice also would be required.

Anyways here is the shot I took of what I'm running right now...

Thanks Smile

maybe they are hardware enthusiasts who like to have latest and greatest, tinker with it, OC it, etc? it's their money after all and they can choose to do whatever they want with it.

just like cars, for some people they are just appliances to get from A to B and for others it's a lot more than that.
