I can't say that any games disappointed me. Nothing I've played out of the approximately 50 games I've completed this year, was done with jarringly unrealistic expectations that would warrant disappointment.
In fact the worst game I've played in a LONG time, not just this year, was Ryse. Instead of disappointing me, it actually surprised me it could be that bad.
It wasn't a positive surprise, but still a surprise
Wow, with the amount of people blasting Elite Dangerous, I'm surprised no one mentioned Reaper of Souls and it's always online requirement.
Oh we've done the Diablo 3 rage and vitriol, years ago, the difference is Blizzard never hid it being online only... FDEV lied to everyone for two years, then screwed them anyhow. We weren't expecting online only requirement, that's why it stings so much
Exactly, that's the reason why I also mentioned ED. You lie, your place is in the black book, no one has the free pass, no matter the pompous curriculum.
In my case not mentioning the Reaper of Bytes is also influenced by the fact that I'm not interested in that game to begin with (with The Crew facing the same destiny, as well as all the MMOs out there*), so these titles don't even qualify as disappointments since they're invisible to me.
*except for Dragon Age Inquisition, that is one kind of MMO that I can try to play
I think train fever should be pretty high on the list.
I still remember their trailer with how easy trackbuilding and shit like that was but when it got released it was almost impossible to get a decent track up. And if you managed to do this the cargo was all fucked up.
