Yep!
I started it on Hard, and many fights are indeed hard. I leveled up to level 8 or so in the Hinterlands and already feared i would be overleveled for other regions, but it's quite the contrary. Especially those enemies with heavy armor and 2-handed weapons give me trouble. Or those rifts, where the enemies are level 12 give me a good raping.

I went for the mages as allies and am now doing that Stormregion, where you found the Bull.
I also haven't even tried fighting that dragon in the Hinterlands, as his fireballs already did enough damage when i tried to sneak by to get some loot Very Happy

But it sucks that your ranged companions don't move away from the enemies automatically. That's why i most of the time start the fight with one of them, instead of my main (dual wield rogue, like everyone else has Very Happy )

Yeah but this is the game people want to whinge about right now.
It will be interesting when Witcher 3 comes out. If people have wasted their best whines on dragon age inquisition they will be stuffed and will deserve to be considered cheap plagiarists if they recycle Inquisition bitching when critiquing Wild Hunt...

Mind you, most of the complaints about this game are pretty meh anyway. The level of pissed-offness about this game's technical failings are fine -we have a right to expect a fully functioning game for the amount Eternal Assholery charges for DA:I, but the complaints viz gameplay and dialogue are as clichéd as the game.
Surely we know the EA/Bioware formulaic approach to gaming already - why would anyone imagine EA would move from the lowest common denominator approach which has already made them kazillions?

Started playing last night, asked my wife to do my female elf character - i don't have the patience to do something nice. Reached through Haven, DLC items were there, all good.

I love the game so far, can't wait to get home to play it again.

Laughing Wish I could outsource character creation to somebody too. It's so boring...I would like to play with some decent looking character in games, but each time I attempt that I say fuck it and select one of the presets instead.

It's unlikely you'll see a Keep emulator, and the save format has only had preliminary decoding as of yet.

No, you just missed to increase the difficulty. Very Happy

I disagree, difficulty in games these days means more health and damage which generally just makes the fight longer and more boring and more punishing if you do die and have to repeat it.

Gone are the days of intelligent difficulty. Case and point dragons which are just long and boring slugfest with no difficulty and cheap mechanics.

I've only played over 30 hours and the problem now is it gets more difficult mentally to do the sidequests. I have goddamn thousands of them. Thats a bit too much. And there are almost no cutscenes or anything for these quests. Its a bit dull. The areas are still good looking and fighting elite dicks and getting big balls as rewards is still fascinating. But fuck I dont want to finish the main story and have thousands of sidequests ahead of me. That makes no sense.

Therefore I am trying to fuck as many sidequests as possible now....and I havent fought a single dragon yet Very Happy Even though I could in this desert brothel or in the Hinterlands...

They are poorly written and provide no reward.

Basically there are several types of quests in this game:

1. Main plot quests. These are the ones that got the most attention - they usually have unique locations, cutscenes, lots of dialogues.

2. Companion Quests. These sometimes have unique locations albeit they are usually small or take place in one of the mmo zones. Cutscenes and lots of dialogues.

3. Major Zone Quests. These are what could be considered the main sidequest in a certain location. Like the Dwarven Tombs in the Hissing Wastes or the Red Templar Operation in Emprise.
These have much less dialogue and no cutscenes. Some of them are quite fun and well-written if you read the codex entries.

4. Side-quests - usually simple fetch/kill/bring quests with some flavour text

5. MMO poop - Requisitions/Collect x/Landmarks.

You should just decide on a cut-off line. I started doing everything but quickly settled on 2-3.

well, i like exploring anyway, so solving a shit quest in vecinity is not a big deal anyway.
i lose more time by backtracking my steps making sure i'm not missing anything vs completing shit quests. i like how they made the world.
