the most reasonable course of action when it comes to RPG's. be a beta tester day 1, or play the intended version months down the line.

I never encountered that bug, I always have banter. Maybe it was fixed in patch 2?

Doesn't seem to work me...Used war room table to port to hinterlands, still very silent except for some comments here and there triggered by environment.

Not sure if it's the same bug, but when I had troubles not hearing anything other than the environment sfx after long periods in game; all I did was switch to headphones in audio settings, save the changes and then switch back to theater and save the changes again. Fixed that sound issue for me.

It just seemed to be the usual dx11 fucked up dialog to me, that or too many years of foldback on 11 has buggered my ears, if I turned music right down, maxed out speech and turned speakers right up I could hear the 'banter' but not well sorta like a mob of assholes mumbling at the bottom of a well.
I switched out the audio from my soundcard to the onboard shite and it is all audible now. It would be interesting to know if anyone using the HDMI audio has this 'bug'.
The game is a mess tho. I just dropped by because the damn thing has taken to crashing to desktop with a directx fault. I've cranked the gpu clock right back which fixed it for a while but now that option isn't doing jackshit I'm about ready to give this game the big flick.

Might be a windows issue then, but can't be arsed to reinstall or update to 8.1 for a game.

According to minimal specs: DirectX 10 compatible, so something like nvidia series 8000 (8800GT) should handle it...But question is how it would run and look like.

I wanna know something. Is the closing the breach quest the last one? My current quest is to go for the breach but I don't feel like I am even through the half of the game. So am I really in the end or that's not the end? It can't be.

So I finally forced myself to give this game a chance, thinking it can't be worse than DA2, right? Well, after playing 2-3 hours I have to say things are not looking good, at all...
The story so far seems to be some of the most generic, uninteresting and boring fantasy bullshit I've seen thousands of times already.
The combat is incredibly dull. At one moment I was just standing there doing nothing, watching party members destroying enemies left and right without me even pressing a single button. Is this an RPG or another CoD where I simply tag along, watching instead of playing? It plays like a shitty action adventure hack and slash game, pressing the right trigger combined with a few other buttons, mindlessly hacking away from one pointless fight to another.
And that's basically the whole game? A pretty, shallow world mixed with repetitive combat and some really dumb dialogue. The acting is simply painful, especially Cassandra's - her voice actor should not be working in this business. She sounds like some kind of amateur shopkeeper Bioware picked up in the liquor store. Actually, the only positive I've found is the fact that there is no Troy Baker to be found. That's a huge plus and the only reason I haven't uninstalled this huge, overhyped, piece of shit AAA - GOTY my ass!
1/10.

Just delurking to say running on my 7870 w/Mantle switching to Win 8.1 got rid of all the stuttering and FPS swings I had on Win7. I'm surprised there was that much of a difference.

@Meseder
Maybe adjust the difficulty level and actually play it a bit?

Yep, bumping up the difficulty has helped quite a bit in my case (not that I consider the combat system good or anything, it's simplistic and the awesomebuttonsauce is always there, sadly).
But still, when you enter areas with relatively powerful enemies/pseudobosses, you actually need to be careful and even use the tacticool vision to place the various mages and rangers properly. Nothing too fancy eh, but it's something.
Alas though there's nothing to fix the Biowriting . At least I've started flirting with the Bull, first baby steps till the future, long awaited bullriding (them gurls here are all annoying and whiny anyway).
