Ports would be nice, Snaker Eater in this engine would be nicer!
Those jungles + bases + one big open map
Would be a remake I agree with
Damn right! A man can dream. Not to mention that proper mouse implementation is the aspect that could be able to bump the fun factor immensely in that game. I'm still in the middle of my Snake Eater Subsistence (with the 'direct' 3rd person camera) playthrough, and every time I need to use the stick to aim I die a little inside. The sniping battle against The End was pure undiluted pain.
You could always end him in a different way, that must be most hilarious method of skipping boss fight in a video game

Yeah in both gameplay and graphics. Expect higher requirements as well.
I highly doubt that it will be substantially different in graphics area, it might be looking better at times just due to the pure design of locations and so on but technically - nah, I doubt that.
I wish we could have classic Metal Gear control schemes, they are ingrained in my brain. I reloaded instead of rolling, shot instead of opening inventory..
- Story. I didn't like MGS4's super convoluted bullshit story and I dislike all the semi-pseudo-historical crap in Peace Walker and here.
- Voice performances. I disliked Old Snake in MGS4 and I dislike the new Snake voice here. Miller sounds good on radio, but his performance is less stellar during his scene in the end. Chico is not good either, and Paz practically has no lines.
- Cutscene direction. Super staged and unispired long takes, yawn.
I hope TPP will be better, because post MGS3 these three aspects keep getting worse and worse IMO.

Why is the UI blurry with FXAA at a very high resolution? Ithought thats a good combo using DSR 3000-3800 res with fxaa. What else is there? The alternative is 1080p with fxaa which is shit high ten....or smaa but thats not that much better.
- Model Detail: Even bellow the "Low" PC setting
- Textures: High
- Texture Filtering: Medium
- Shadows: Medium
- Lighting: High
- Screen Filtering: High
- SSAO: High
- Effects: High
As a reminder the highest PC setting for all of these options is "Extra High"

Ouch! indeed.

I will try the PS4 settings later. I know I won't be able to get a steady 60 since I can't achieve that even at the lowest setting but to be honest once I found out I can't get a steady 60 all my benchmarks were in the very first area with the view of the camp without moving the character at all.
Perhaps I can play at 60 with ~PS4 settings once I move away from this spot which seems to be the most demanding? Perhaps I shouldn't judge performance just by that spot.
I'll keep you posted my livejournal readers!

the shadows are blurry on pc too, and that screen isn't ps4.
pc is the best looking version easily but it's not an incredible leap over ps4, it's dumb to enter a graphics war over such minor differences. i forgot that pc players don't give a shit about gaming nowadays but only graphics.

As one of the only people from this very forum having played both versions, I can tell the difference is minor and you barely notice it while playing it.

Dafuq.
Guys if you change your settings remember to restart the game. This is the only explanation I have about the original area performing so bad (40s) before even at the lowest setting while now with ~PS4 settings it's like:
- View of the camp: 53-54-55-somewhere around there.
- Entering the camp and running around: 60 with drops to 57-58-59-somewhere around there and then back to 60 like 3-4-5-seconds later (yeah it takes a while). Rarely drops to high 40s from which again the framerate recovers.
Since the framerate recovers it seems my CPU cannot stream fast enough. I doubt it's my HDD because the assets are not huge and I have a pretty good (albeit mechanical) HDD and I doubt every single one of you have SSDs. Also due to my old ass motherboard I can only install DDR2 memory so take that into account as well.
The thing is having it played it with everything maxed, now the missing lights from the ~PS4 settings make the game considerably less lively and impressive. Those claiming "you can't notice the difference" must be blind.
Decisions decisions..
