The Enlightened One has decided to digitize his body and mind, left this peasantly plane of existence and now exists solely in the Kojimatrix.

I predict a new church that will rival scientology in power and influence to rise soon.

FOV hack discovered Laughing

The field of view in MGS is generally quite low but isn't a major problem as you play with an over-the-shoulder camera for the majority of the time. People who are sensitive to low first person FOVs will encounter difficulty when in crawl spaces, however there is a little workaround I discovered. If you hold W and gently tap aim once (default right mouse button), the FOV will expand to a comfortable 90 degrees (see below).

In conclusion, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is a phenomenal PC port. There are flaws but they are small, few and far between and easily patchable. As Kojima Production's debut game on PC, I'm impressed by the lack of crashes, the stable frame-rate and fluid controls. If anything, this goes to show that the next gen experience does not require 16GB of RAM, 4GB of VRAM and 50GB HDD space and I think that speaks volumes about the quality of production on their behalf.

Reminds me of a old B movie called I think "Max Knight: Ultra Spy" where the villain uploads himself to the internet and then this hero does the same and then they fight in Half-Life and some badly made CGI after that. Razz

?? The game is 9 months old. Everything that can be said about the gameplay, it's length, the quality, *everything* that could be said has been said 9 months ago. Now they're talking about the PC version and how it holds up in comparison. Are you going to complain there are no gameplay and length reviews about GTA V when that hits the PC too?

Um.. have you checked the previous page: http://www.pcgamer.com/metal-gear-solid-v-ground-zeroes-review/

Quote:
You’ll see the credits roll and you’ll think, is that it? But then you go back to the main menu and notice that you’re at 8% completion. Clearing the main mission unlocks four more that alter the camp’s layout, enemy patrol patterns, weather, and time of day, creating an entirely new set of challenges. In one mission you have to identify and assassinate two war criminals. Another sees you destroying anti-air guns to pave the way for an airstrike. They might not sound that interesting on paper, but it’s the sheer number of ways to approach each objective that makes Ground Zeroes special.

Quote:
The camp is big, and a testing ground for The Phantom Pain’s open-world stealth, which is a first for the MGS series. But it’s small enough that, after a few hours, you’ll have a fairly accurate map of it in your head. It’s a brilliantly designed space, and fifteen hours in, I’m still finding new ways to navigate it. There are vents to crawl through, walkways to sneak across, towers to climb, and roaming trucks to hide in the back of. It’s as rich a systems-based stealth game as Deus Ex, minus the RPG elements.

Quote:
They’ll also mark XOF patches on your map, nine of which are hidden around the camp. They’re worth finding, because they unlock two very silly bonus missions—Deja Vu and Jamais Vu—that have been designed with fans in mind. These were previously PlayStation and Xbox exclusives, but on PC we get both.

These missions are just extras, really. A bit of irreverence to lighten the game’s otherwise dark tone. The meat is in the main mission and side ops, which took me 8 hours to complete. You might balk at the idea of paying almost £20 for a single level, but trust me: there’s a lot in here. With just one location, it’s deeper and more varied than games some publishers would charge £50 for.

I said "recommended" and yes, the official requirements released today (or yesterday?) say the same thing. 2GB minimum, 4GB recommended and once you start getting up, it shows. Claiming 2GB at "highest 4K" is nonsense, unless nVidia are lying just to sell cards.

..... which is quite possible, granted grinhurt

http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/guides/metal-gear-solid-v-ground-zeroes-graphics-and-performance-guide#metal-gear-solid-v-ground-zeroes-4k-screenshot-gallery

Texture Quality VRAM Usage
3840x2160 3026MB
3325x1871 2831MB
2880x1620 2664MB
2715x1527 2585MB
2560x1440 2548MB
2351x1323 2486MB
2103x1183 2415MB
1920x1080 2265MB

It uses more than 2GB at 1080p.

It could be pcgamingwiki didn't test as many areas as nvidia.

edit it could be:

Quote:
Testing methodology: conveniently, the intro cut-scene is one of the most demanding parts of the game, making heavy use of cinematic effects with lots of lighting, shadows and post process effects meaning it's a great benchmark. All tests were done at 4k.

It seems they didn't test gameplay Laughing

Seems like a good value if you get the Nuuvem deal for $9. I think it's region locked to the Americas though.

Some screens.

(Apparently shooting that kid was not allowed but the other POW's were not so lucky.)

EDIT: FPS is around 50 - 55 with everything turned up and a resolution of 2560x1600 (Slight downsampling to 1920x1200) and as far as gameplay goes it's pretty much up to you, there's no problems with playing it as a straight shooter (Even has health regeneration.) but stealth might be more rewarding if you can pull it off.
