Quote: | SteamDB has been updated with XSEED Games’ beat ‘em up title, Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed accompanied by a Steam Official Group hinting that the game might arrive on PC/Steam in addition to Playstation 4.
Currently, there are no additional details available, but it’s safe to presume better resolutions, increased frame rates, more NPCs, less loading time, and modding support – though I wouldn’t be so sure about the modding support.
The game is set in Akihabara, a place invaded by a battalion of mutants called Synthisters. These mutants prey upon the inhabitants of Akihabara and the only way to stop them is to expose them to direct UV rays. In order to do it, players are required to tear mutant’s clothings (hence the name) in a manner which is very anime-like.
The game was originally released on Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita in Japan last year and is slated to launch on Playstation 4 in Europe on Feb. 6, 2015. For more details on the PS4 version, make sure to check out this post.
We like to believe that the PC/Steam version will launch alongside the European PS4 version, but nothing is concrete as of this instant. |

So one of these games now comes to PC? Interesting.
(There's a few different varieties but this one seems to be pretty direct compared to feeling up your characters or all the other stuff in other similar games.)

Nice! I was about to buy it for PS4 but I guess I'm going to wait now for PC.

I do love how these quirky titles might be coming to PC, I hope more in the same vein start to get the same push.

Its officially confirmed
Quote: | In Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed, players take an eclectic trip through a meticulous recreation of Tokyo’s “Electric Town” district, Akihabara (Akiba for short), where they will engage in real-time action RPG-style battles against vampiric foes called “Synthisters” who prey on the district’s anime- and game-obsessed patrons. They feast on their victims’ social energy and will to live rather than their blood, and only direct exposure to sunlight can stop them in their tracks. So, naturally, the logical thing to do is strip them down to their skivvies and watch them melt away!
In addition to Steam achievements and USB controller support, the PC edition of Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed offers the built-in “Visual Editor” feature from the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system version of the game, which makes it possible to completely alter the game’s appearance either through a series of preset visual filters or through individual toggles and sliders for each aspect of the game’s lighting and rendering systems. |

Quote: | AKIBA'S TRIP: Undead & Undressed launches on Steam May 26th for $29.99, €26.99, or £19.99 w/ a 10% discount 1st week!
We once said that AKIBA'S TRIP supported only 1080p & 720p, but ACQUIRE took fan feedback seriously, so it now supports 19 resolutions.
The PC version uses the PS4 version's enhanced graphics & also includes its "Visual Editor" mode, so go nuts customizing Akihabara's look. |

Xseed's take on the specs
Quote: | They were given to us by Acquire directly, so we're basically just quoting what they told us -- but they were wrong about a few specs early on (they told us the game required 50+ GB of hard drive space, and gave us conflicting DirectX info), so it's entirely possible these specs still aren't entirely correct.
The game did run fairly sluggishly on a few of our work computers, but to be fair, we're using some pretty low-end computers at work (they were never meant for gaming; just spreadsheets!), so that doesn't really mean much.
What does mean something, though, is that we asked Sara (our Steam programmer for the Ys games, Trails in the Sky and Corpse Party) to help us out a little with QA for this title, and she actually praised Acquire's programming, informing us that this is a very solid port. She said the specs are a little high, but not unreasonable, and that the game ran silky smooth for her on her usual gaming PC.
So it has the Sara seal of approval, at the very least! |
