keeps like 2 gigs of cache and 1000000000 install kits on my drive. for what the fuck he needs to keep them all, no ideea. no obvious option to limit disk cache or set disckcache location.

1 uninstall chrome.
2 get ramdrive software. i use softperfect ramdrive.
3 make a 500mb persistent ramdrive, let's say s letter. (with save content to image option checked).
4 open an elevated command prompt.
5 type mklink /D "C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome" "S:\temp"

temp should exist on s, chrome should not exist on c. replace USER with your user. c with your os partition

6 type mklink /D "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome" " S:\chrome"

same shit like above. delete x86 if you have an x32 os.

make a shedule taks to delete content of C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Update folder on logon.
reinstall chrome. yeah, i know. still is the best and fastest browser from my pov, and i canot just drop it.

no big deal, but tell me another program which after 2 months have 2 gb cache, no option to limit that cache/disable/move it, and keeps copy of every single update.
i presume if i let it alone in 1 year will be close to 10+ gigs at least.
and not 100% sure, but cache on ssd is a big no. especially when it writes itself every time on the same block.

I think he meant that Google creates big cache chunks onto the HDD/SSD, not within the RAM itself. Smile If Chrome ever ate up that amount of primary memory on regular occasions, the uproar on the Internet would be grand. Very Happy

i almost never use chromium but when I do I always launch it with incognito mode enabled

chrome --incognito

you won't have the cache piling up! the reason why they do this is because of their company model... they are interested in your online behaviour.... cleaning cache makes their revenue model less interesting!

but try to use firefox as much as possible honestly!
