I don't have 3000850 installed but I *do* have another 900MB rollup pack; KB2919355. No issues yet. 30000850 is in my optional list but now I'm worried to install it.

Think its the "noisy perception distortion theory" at work
The ones that have problems talk, so all you hear talking is the ones that have problems..making it seem everyone is having them.
I have no reason to move from windows. been using it since 1995, on my machine, dozen and dozens I built for people, my kids, my wifes..and server 2003,2008,2012 for every server we use for work..never any major issues OS related that cant be also said of other OS's in some form or variation.
If you can point out one reason to move, beyond the "lol windoze sux, be uber use linux!" I would consider it. SO far I have not seen anything it offers better/easier/more appealing than windows other than the 'cool geek' factor of saying you use it because windows is 'too mainstream'.
Ive never heard one good reason to switch beyond the cries of only noobz use windows.
The term 'linux hipster' comes to mind "psshh I just do a sudo apt-get update to keep my linux up to date, but Im sure you wouldn't have heard of what that is"

Its tough to admit, but it seems to play dragon age inquisition, I will need to install win 8.1 in the near future, as win 10 still has a while till RTM
Gonna have to read up on dem activation methods, seeing how its not just DAZ loader press A to win anymore.
If there's a good guide someone could PM me, don't hesitate

Actually, it is. KMSpico is just like DAZ's loader. Requires minimal involvement on the user part of things. You install it, press a button, restart and Windows is activated. It also works on Windows 10 TP.

Just be VERY careful what version of KMSpico you get and where you get it from, as there are nasty malware scumbags "claiming" their software to be KMSpico. Make sure the one you get is from Heldigard on MyDigitalLife.

Exactly. I always download this type of activation software from MDL and their respective threads.

It might not be relevant anymore, but for next time - consider getting yourself a Drive Snapshot (it's just single small .exe, works great, don't worry it's nothing like bloated Acronis that you have to install or other crapware). Then make image of your SSD (you can do that even when Windows is running, but I prefer to do cold/offline backups) and then you can experiment with whatever you want without worrying it would make your OS unstable.
I usually make a note of any change I make to OS since my last backup image (system settings, new software etc.) and every month or two restore to my latest backup, update all apps and replicate those changes I took notes of and make a new backup (you can also make differential image to save some space and keep history of your images in case you ever want to go back further than just latest backup). It keeps my system as clean as possible and I always have image at hand when things go haywire and I am set in no time...Backups and restoring usually takes about 5 minutes, differential backups may take even less. So it's really quick, way better than clean reinstall
Oh, and I ALWAYS make a backup before restore as well, so that I can easily retrieve any file I might forget to backup before restore (like game saves or settings in appdata, etc.).

Getting a weird behavior from my PC, it freezes, for a few seconds, it happens when Chrome is open, all i get is "waiting for cache" in the browser's status bar. It happens way too often lately, anyone has this symptom?

Uninstall Chrome then, deleting all directories and related stuff. Use CCleaner for the reg bits. Reinstall Chrome.

Any tips on how to upgrade an 8.1 oem to enterprise?
Unfortunately a clean install is out of the question. If I try the windows upgrade anytime thing it states that the key won't do (probably cause it's an OEM one). And if I really need to buy a win 8.1 core/pro key, where to find a cheap one?
BTW, I'm targeting enterprise because I'm assuming that I won't be bombarded by all the "upgrade to win 10 NAO" shitware. At least until now this was true to my win 7 enterprise machine, hoping that it will be as well for a 8.1 enterprise too.

After an update yesterday UAC got turned back on so I disabled it through msconfig, turned it all the way down and restarted.
Today I see an app's updater complaining about not having write access to c:\Program Files(x86)\blah blah and I should run as administrator ... did I miss something? Some change? Because up until now I knew that disabling UAC gives apps access, I never had to run anything as admin and never had privilege problems.

Maybe they updated some stuff behind the visuals. On win10 some people also reported UAC being restored after update.
And I don't remember UAC disabling access to folders on W8.
