On the comparison above i prefer 360 resolution and aa aside

I've made it too look great finally. Gedosato + fxaa + durante postprocessing + forcing dx9 mode

Well the con is that in dx9 there is no ao and god rays... But there is no way to make sweetfx/gedosator work in dx11 somehow

i took pc screenshot from that eurogamer comparison and matched pc to 360 one with a brithness/contrast sliders in photoshop. so like i said, there is no missing lighitng in pc version.

and do i need to remind that 360 version runs sub 20fps when there is a lot of destruction on screen, while having tons of motion blur to hide low fps and less detailed destruction than pc.

don't know what KC was smoking, but i finished game on 360 and then on PC. PC is miles better than 360.

You are right. There's a bunch of games, thankfully the minority, whose colors are a bit washed out on PC. In this case the 360 version suffers from crushed blacks, you should be looking to make it match the PS3 version:

360:

^ Crushed blacks.

PS3:

^ How it should look.

PC:

^ Washed out.

SweetFX' S-curve is your friend.

Just email them some proof of purchase and they'll give you a Steam copy: http://steamcommunity.com/app/20500/discussions/0/617321352118193240/

The reason I think that they can't do it automated like other companies have done is that they are not the original publishers that put it on GFWL (THQ were).

Anyway - they are still updating it on steam.
I don't imagine anyone releasing game like this nowadays for some reason. They just don't make those aa (b) games anymore

Far Cry 1 and seeing explosives actually creating physical holes in the terrain, made me wonder a bit how destruction would look like in newer games but it hasn't really changed all that much honestly.

Games like this shows what can be done though but they did skip the terrain deformation in favor of almost full destruction of every other prop in the game.
(Most buildings are fairly empty though and the durability is on par with lego but you are swinging a pneumatic sledgehammer / pink flamingo around with reckless abandon so. Razz )

FEAR probably also deserves a mention for it's use of parallax to fake bullet impact on things like concrete instead of black scorch marks and such.

And of course Soldier of Fortune and it's sequel showing a certain other form of physical deformation.

Not that I play them much but racing games could also gain a bit but I heard licensing makes it problematic to wreck vehicles unless you use made up ones, GTA IV had some impressive deformation though for a open world action game instead of just scratch marks.
(And before that Mafia 1 had a simpler but still effective way of deforming vehicles from impact.)

Strategy games perhaps? Apparently one of the later Command and Conquer games put in a bit of effort when you destroyed a certain building in a map and it even had voice over responses for it, said building just happened to be the EA HQ for no particular reason whatsoever. Very Happy

We are old assholes Sad
The game came out 8 years ago.
That is TWICE as long as it took from wolfenstein to quake.

My childhood was great. I played duke nukem3d, hexen, heretic, quake, unreal, half-life and red faction1 all when they were new Crying or Very sad
That waterfall in Unreal melted my mind as well as moving mouths in half-life for some reason Laughing
