No way in hell that stock cooler can manage to give that kind of temps with 4,8Ghz and FULL LOAD, not even with very good chip that requires so low volts. They probably stressed out the cpu with Mozilla Firefox.

Alright, fine, but why the hell is my stock cooler not working it's ass off to keep my temps below 100C when stressing it? Sure, the system is stable, but come on..

Moving on - turned off TurboBoost in BIOS, and now stress testing with Intels Extreme Tuning Utility - 4Ghz and a vcore of 1.040v. Max temp 78C with a more or less SILENT fan. Same noise as in idle, barely audible...

Finally I'm getting somewhere!

Went back to the H100i after testing the stock cooler, disabled TurboBoost and manually set the clock to 4.4Ghz and a vcore of 1.18v, and it's stable and maxes out at 60C! So much better!

Continuing my "blog" here

Success!
Intel Extreme Tuning Utility stress test - 4.6Ghz, hottest core 71C, coldest 62 Surprised this with a vcore of 1.27v.

What is different from the first time around is an updated motherboard BIOS, and I put my rubber washers under the ones that are already on the H100i pump backplate/bracket. Weird though, but I ain't complaining.

Good.

Also, never compare one's chip with another, as each can be very different, even if part of the same batch. Factor in different cooling, ambient temps, twin GPU's adding more heat to the system, the direction your breathing, the way you piss etc Wink

Absolutely, I'm very well aware of the silicon lottery Smile But when at first my chip differed so much from reviewed samples, I was worried Razz
