fable was a bit too consoleish for me, still a good game...
Gothic2 was really immersive and big...

I am getting Gothic right now. But I don't know which to get. 1 or 2. Hmm, If I get 2 first then I might be disappointed by one because it lacks some stuff, but if I get 1 first, more game time and more story (just more story, regarless of if its good or bad.) Other things come into play too. Hmm.. In any case, fable WAS a good game, but it was a console game. Its hard for console RPGs to measure up to any good CRPG/ActionRPG

Gothic 2 is bettter than gothic1, thats for sure. A lot bigger, more immersive, more complex. Gothic 1 is still a great game though, and gothic2 has a lot of story elemts and npscs taken over from gothic1. Gothic 2 is even more immersive when you played gothic 1, since you'll be really kind of happy to see that certain gothic1 characters survived etc. And theres a lot of talk about the things that happend in gothic1, so I'd recommend to play gothic 1 first. Just don't be disappointed if it seems old, cus it is. Gothic 2 is the real big deal 
And forget about fable when you have gothic as a choice. I find gothic series to be by far the most immersive role playing series around. And even though graphics are not top notch, you won't get a more beautifully designed world in any game (except shadow of the colloseus on ps2 maybe).

I voted for fable because it kept my attention. I probably didn't play gothic 2 long enough to really form a strong opinion on it, but thats because it didnt grip me right away. Different for everyone i suppose.

Gothic 2 was beautiful, huge & immersive. Fable was bloom, narrow & shallow ;-P

I havent played Gothic 2 sadly, but from what i read, its more immersive than Fable...which would mean it would be better, i'd think

Gothic 2 for sure : IMO, gothic 2 is a real RPG (freedom of action, multiple ways for solving a problem) with some action elements (fighting system) instead of Fable which is an action game with some RPG elements...

more immersive, and much much better designed world, looks and feels a lot more natural (its designed by hand, and still together with old world its almost the size vvaardenfels or wahtever its called...=

27 people who haven't played Gothic II? Can't see any other possible reason someone would vote Fable.
And yes, Gothic II kicks the shit out of Morrowind as well, especially with the NOTR expansion installed.

Don't really need to add my opinion, but I will anyway.
Gothic 2 is fantastic, the best RPG out there at the moment in my opinion. Gothic 1 was one of the best game experiences i've ever had.

is this a joke? Fable can't compete with Gothic 1 or 2 on its BEST day. Not that Gothic is the best RPG ever, but it's a LOT better than Fable.
