b2t: anyone here tried it? servers should be online since 7 hours. i do not have much hope for this since the betas but maybe maybe maaaaaaybe ubifail doenst fail again (chances are 1 to 1000000 though)
Where are you getting the 7 hours thing from? I've heard the rumors that they will start it earlier today, but the official date is 02.12.14. The game is still locked for me.
unlock time only affects you if you preordered via steam or uplay. if you got a key from a boxed copy or keystore you are already able to play. that goes for pc version, ps4 is online since 10 hours too
btw. I got a key from nvidia rewards on the cheap.
edit: Just a heads up to anyone cares. The golden plate rewards have to be completed before the game officially lunches. From what I read that could be as soon as in one hour.
If anyone wants to get in on a crew to get the final two rewards let me know. I still got three spots.
edit 2:
Quote:
CPU i5 3570K stock.
GPU R9 290X
8 Gb Ram
Ultra at 1080p with soft shadows disabled and FXAA instead of MSAA
Looks and runs just fine
edit 3: Seems like the game is unlocking in Europe slowly, depending on your timezone.
yep on nuuvem, said that in this thread before. afaik uplay games are all multi (except the ru locked to ru language). but i never bought a uplay game on nuuvem, but if it would be locked say normally write it on the product page.
and you can buy it without proxy, for ea games for example you need a proxy cause otherwise you could not add it to the basket
Bought it for ~34€. Game is fun so far. The story is shit of course. Don't have any friends who are playing this, so I can't say how much fun it is with a crew of friends, but the online racing works well, played some of the missions in co-op and I didn't notice any issues. The driving model is ok for an arcade game, have seen better and worse.
But what the hell, Ubisoft, can't you make a single game with proper performance?! Now I was disappointed with AC Unity, as on my rig (i7-2600K, 8GB, R9 290) it drops to unplayable frame rates. But at least it looks great. This game looks for the most part as any racer from around 2008, yet it still can't maintain a steady 60FPS! It drops to the low 40s with everything on high in cities.
The driving model is straight from NFS series, which is not a big surprise, as many of devs worked at EA on the series...Played the beta, it felt exactly like the more recent NFS and even had some of the issues that many NFS games had (auto-catch-up, invisible walls).

I just played The Run and Most Wanted last week and both are nothing like The Crew in terms of handling. Must be something else. In the beta I was able to upgrade the muscle care from the default "boat" handling to something much more manageable. That was only at lvl 10, I expect this to change drastically later on in the game.
OT:
I'm Having a blast. Aside from few disconnects at the end of the rice while driving with the crew, I had no problems so far. The visuals and frame rate is rock solid on my really outdated card. Have not had a chance to make it past the content available in the beta, but I'm really digging what I saw (again). It also gets a lot better racing with good friends, since certain races allow for creative teamwork.
