I read all the books, then watched the show.(except Season 1 I watched that before) Books are amazing. It's a lot better if you read the books first and then watch the show.

I disagree, I also read all the books and watched the show and the show is much better than the books a simply because they cut all the unnecessary crap.

Well, Martin isn't such a great writer and hundrends of pages of needless exposition or descriptions of what people eat don't make it better

Well, it's true. His writing is sub par. Titties, killings and pagecount won't change the fact that his craft is on the level of J. K. Rowling and Dan Brown.

But in first couple of books, he also introduced well executed medieval setting with believable plot, and all together was enough for a great fantasy series. Then he clearly developed severe writers block and once believable plot went to hell with zombies, cliffhangers, forced plot elements and poorly executed magic.

I used to love the guy. I devoured the first two books. At the third one I already had doubts, but I still waited like crazy for fourth one in a hope that magic will come back. Obviously, I was completely disappointed. But by the time the fifth came out, I developed a different taste, and I didn't even bother with it.

I follow HBO series, but it won't kill me if I miss an episode or two.

yea his writing isnt very good, the show is definitely more fun to follow, the books are filled with endless exposition and its all very hard to read.

pick up a book like moby dick and you will be engrossed even though youre basically reading about a closet gay fantasizing about the body of a big harpooner and whether or not he should share his bed with him Laughing

I can't really see each episode as a single game and judge it accordingly.
Like with all Telltale games, I'll wait for all episodes to be out and then play them all one after another.

Eh, I haven't read the review but what concerns me the most is the whole 5 viewpoints, episodes are already short, its hard enough to get in to one character, two is stretching it, but it worked for borderlands, I fear the story will fill disjointed and slow because of all that, also will lack the depth and character attachment we had with walking dead or wolf amongst us..

Don't get me wrong, I loved both The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, but I think it's a mistake releasing the game in episodic format. By the time the next episode is out I've forgotten a lot of story details and why I cared for the characters in the first place.

Hence the reason it's best to wait for the season to end. I'm also not happy with episodic games with long waits between episodes.

Game of Thrones Episode 1-CODEX

Yarrr!

There were two lofty ships
From old England came
Blow high, blow low
And so sail we
One was the Prince of Luther
The other Prince of Wales
All a-cruisin' down the coast
Of High Barbary
"Aloft there, aloft there"
Our jolly bosun cried
"Look ahead, look astern,
Look to weather an' a-lee"

Yeah, it was on the fucking side, had to scroll... What a lame-ass solution.

Regardless, it's still a joke that the game starts in a window. This is not the fucking 90s.

The game seems fine. But can't say it's a game that i'd like to play over and over. It's good but not that good. The classic GoT moments are well placed in the game, so that's there. But it seems the decisions are yet again don't carry weight troughout the game i assume. (like in every-goddamn-telltale game)

so it's fun but don't have high expectations. Oh and the end was really shocking to me.

Hmm... it has that budgetey aftertaste that lingers.

Parts of it play just like the old Dragon's Lair, only with hints.

The animations are really bad, and the fighting scenes look like a cheap puppet show.

Once you have played one Telltale game, you have played them all - you can't deviate from the plot, so it's best not to argue much when the NARRATOR speaks through the NPCs

Quick, hide here! Okay. You have to head north. Right away. Disguise yourself as a tree! Whatever.

To summarize it, it's a budget fatalism simulator.

Let me guess - they chop the most likable character's head off. Surprised
