Ghost Movie 7/10

I have no idea why i downloaded that one but that IR cam scene in the bed room at the beginning made me laugh so hard i just watched the whole thing. Very stupid movie but still very watchable. Typical Wayans flick.

Triangle is pretty rad, and unique in terms of timetravel movies. The acting is not very good, but the timetravel is flawless (even though it may appear incorrect at times, it isn't). If you have a thirst for a rather complex timetravel story, this is the movie to watch.

Still, BTTF remains one of the best.

Just goes to show that the best timetravel movies still need a proper story Smile

Predestination - 7/10

A fairly typical time travel mindfuck-y movie, but with some originality too. Didn't make me wow because I had somewhat anticipated the surprise, but it was nicely presented overall, also thanks to the convincing acting.

Di Caprio was expecially chameleonic here, kudos to him Cool Face

Triangle 6/10

Was mentioned here and was the only one of the time flicks I hadn't watched. It is a good movie to pass some time. Pretty 'actiony', not much of a mindfuck. Enjoyed it for what it was, but after watching pre-destination and Primer this week it was a bit of a let down.

Rolling Eyes

Event Horizon - 8/10

Rewatched this recently, they really dont make them like this anymore, or in the same genre for the matter.

Everything from the setting, the mix of the horror/space and the concept itself was really good in this movie, the visuals are also gorgeous and you can clearly see that dead space borrowed a lot from this years later down the road.

teenage mutant ninja turtles

well, i finally watched it...

i could be very generous and say 30% of the film was acceptable. not great, but watchable... there was some ok stuff in this, that could have made for a good film

i will say that i really liked leo and raph. i think those two were done well, especially Raphael, he was awesome... but i swear, this is the FIRST time in this franchise where ive actively HATED Michelangelo. he was just fucking annoying and whiny and pathetic, and came across like such a slimeball. hated his voice, hated the portrayal, everything about him spelled DOUCHEBAG. Donatello wasnt much better, though i will say his high pitched squeal about the foot having guns at the start of the snow chase was probably the funniest part in the entire film.

all in all, a fail film.

i loved loved loved loved LOVED the animated TMNT film (characters all done wonderfully there), and i really enjoyed turtles forever (if you havent seen it, DO! its fantastic if you love the oldschool turtles, it was so well done!) but this was just pathetic. glimpses of something enjoyable, buried under tonnes of shit.

now if you'll excuse me, im going to watch TMNT to get the taste of this film out of my mouth, and remind myself that turtles films can be both fun AND kick ass.

I give this a 4/10...

sidenote, during that shitty elevator scene where they start playing music... was ANYONE else here looking over at the buttons lighting up to show what floor they were at, feeling disheartened that they were only half way to the top, and actually WILLING the buttons to blink faster? i cant have been alone in this...
