Lets not go overboard here. Laughing Risen 3 is absolute garbage especially if someone has played R1 and to a lesser extent even R2.

What you mean, Risen 3 is excellent if you don't think of it as a Risen game Laughing

One other thing I noticed is that despite the frustrations with friendly AI, the enemy AI sometimes manages to surprise with signs of basic intelligence. I have seen an enemy shield guy move in from the side and put himself between my archer and the archer I was attacking, successfully deflecting my shots.
Similarly, some troops would hide behind crates and other objects when under attack from my archer at long distances and move to another location once that cover got destroyed.

Whatever will they think of next!

Yeah... I think you missed the point I was making. They're both garbage, there's no need to debate which shade of shit is darker.

And you missed the point I was making. It just reminded me of how terrible Risen 3 was in comparison to its predecessors.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

Control schemes are a very subjective thing tho.

To me, saying "gamepads are good for CoD and Skyrim" is absurd, gamepads are at their worst in first-person games due to the poor accuracy of the analog stick as a pointing device.

I don't have DA:I but from gameplay videos I can see how it could be better with a pad honestly (or at least better than an FPS or an FPRPG).

I think this game is stuck between indirect point-and-click (BG/DAO) and direct hack-and-slash (Gothic/Risen) controls. They should have chosen one or the other.

Oh man, thank you! I've had no idea I can tell those idiots to go somewhere and hold position just be double clicking. It makes party management substantially easier Very Happy

It does make things easier indeed, but I said it wrong Very Happy

It's double right click. Well, actually it's simply an additional right click on the character or their final waypoint - doesn't have to be a "double click" per se Smile

Quite useful in combination with Blackwall and his Champion skill Line in the Sand (or the player character, if spec'd that way) for trapping melee enemies in a choke point and hammering them with archer/mage attacks.

An additional command is if you right click on another party member, that tells the first character to defend the second character.

Has 30fps lock, no?

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

It's not so much that the FPS varies, but rather the animation gets desync'd somwhow. FPS can be a steady 30 but the character animations and camera pans judder sometimes while they're smooth at others.

The 60fps command fixed that for me. Did you try it?

Yeah even with the framerate unlock I still occasionally get fairly significant chopiness in cutscenes. In one major cutscene the whole thing went to shit and the audio was completely desynced by 5-10 seconds.

Just a warning regarding the prima guide webrip. You must make the path to index.html kinda short and simple otherwise images might not load. Especially if you unpack it into a folder in a folder in a folder... It should be something like this: C:\DAI_guide\folders+index.html Smile

I did, both on the 360 and on PC.
CoD is shit on any system tho... I was generally talking about first person games.

Anyone successfully played multiplayer? I tried 5 times and it didnt worked 5 times. When the game load after I use the quickmatch option, I get an eternal black screen with the loading logo. I can hear the people talking and playing, but i'm stuck in a freaking loading screen. Left it loading for 10minutes yesterday, didnt worked.

I have absolutly no problems or bugs/crash in SP though.

I had no game-stopping issues with Mantle, but with this game, at least on highest settings, DX11 is better for me.
For one, on Mantle the levels take significantly longer to load for whatever reason.
And secondly, with the highest (Fade Touched) texture resolution setting, I am getting a lot of stutters or what one might call occasional hitching with Mantle. They had these Mantle memory management issues with BF4 as well (with Ultra textures) in the earlier days, but they fixed it up somewhat later... looks like DAI needs some additional work.

In general, I saw no difference in framerate between Mantle and DX11 on my system (i5 2500k, R9 290) in the spots where I checked. The game seems much more GPU limited for me than BF4 multiplayer.
Looking at the performance graph, I saw lots of CPU spikes under Mantle, while under DX11 it was very smooth and steady - it's the complete opposite of BF4 multiplayer for me in that regard, where Mantle fixed a lot of DX11 issues and provided very smooth and consistent performance.

Perhaps with a different system configuration or slightly lower settings Mantle advantages will come into play, but for me DX11 offers a better experience. It might warrant a second look when/if they tweak Mantle for this game.
