After playing a while (yes, its fun I have to admit) I wonder if Ubisoft is going to promote this game series to the next "annual recycling trademark" like Assassins Creed or Call Of Duty. The gameplay is really a such exact copy of FC3 (in a "new" setting) its almost unbelievable that this is being published as a full-priced "new" game. Reminds me somehow of the "Borderlands Pre-Sequel".
I am sure Ubisoft marketing managers already wonder what setting may be usable for "Far Cry 5"... African Deserts? Egypt Pyramides? South American Maya Temples? The Great Wall of China? "Exotic" areas in Siberia/Russia?... We will see... Rolling Eyes

When I switched to a 1440p monitor the performance drop was so big that I decided to go SLI for the first time. I kind of wish I had stuck with 1080p, but now it's hard to go back after witnessing how much better 1440p looks.

Arg.... Installed R.G. Mechanics version. During the setup it asked which crack to use, so I used ALI213. Installed update, then used ALI213 crack fix and the game won't save...

And yes, I made sure I enabled to run as admin.

Game seems to run fine, no crash at door, etc. Just doesn't save

I needed the skin of a bengal tiger to craft a heavy ammo bag, so I climbed atop a mighty elephant and chased after one whilst launching arrows at him.

The story is weak, many story missions feel like nothing more than sidequests that should not be part of the main narrative, but, riding an elephant while raining death is priceless.

"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Well I will try and see. I once had SLI and never will use SLI again as I had so much trouble with it back then. Maybe a 980 would be an option for me but I am not quite sure if the jump is really worth it, considering I have a very good GTX 780 very high overclockble with a Prolimatech mk 26 on it...

which again is another thing; you can earn money too quickly and easily. I'd love a survival sort of mode.

Yup, pretty much my only complaint with the game is how easily they throw money at you. Within the first 2-3 hours of play, I'd already bought every map and every upgrade available at the time. Fantastic game sure, but considering I've only done 10% of the game? Yeaaaaaah... Sad

Has anyone discovered a fix for 1.00>1.03 profiles yet? I really want to run 1.03 but losing progression is not an option. Failing that, if someone has an ALI213 1.03 save file in the realms of the following, I'd be VERY grateful for a copy please!

9 campaign missions completed
7 outposts liberated
1 fortress beaten (Paul I think as it's not Noore, Pagan or Yuma)
6 Bell towers hijacked

Complete progression so far;

Or if Ubi are smart they're going to do 2 year cycles with Splinter Cell (which is basically a hi-tech Assassins Creed by now) and Far Cry, to make it appear less CoD-style yearly games.

The biggest challenge so far is trying to aim. Laughing

Godawful mouse movement that feels as if you're moving your mouse across a muddy surface, and at times as if the game has some sort of auto-aim for mouse users as well that's interfering with your movements.

And yes, I did edit the settings file and turned off mouse accel.

Yes, I agree completely. I've got Borderlands Pre-Sequel and I've played for a few hours... but... yeah, it's BL2 in every single possible way. It's an expansion for BL2, just like FC4 really is just an expansion for FC3. Same game, same mechanics, same everything else, just in a different location. I'm burned out on Borderlands because I recently finished an 80hr++ run on BL2, so Pre-Sequel is really burning me out. Luckily I don't have that feeling with FC4 yet since I played/finished FC3 in 2012 Very Happy

If you're on 1.00 then posted a common.dat a few pages back, that has fixed mouse control for me. Or, if you're already on 1.03 and not 1.00.... then... hmm, not sure as the 1.03 common.dat has a far better mouse system. Try enabling (or disabling) triple buffering? Mine has been great since using the 1.03 common.dat

So, a question.

I got the iso, installed it, applied the 1.3 files and then applied the ALI crack, at the startup screen, still shows 1.0, is that supposed to be so?

Nope, you should be seeing 1.3 on the title screen. Make sure you're not using 1.00 binaries inside that ALI crack (none of the SSAO files, nor FarCry4.exe or FC64.dll, etc)
