Someone deserves a slow, agonizing death for implementing the "camera" in this game. Can't get past the first boss fight in the prologue, not because of any lack of tactics or strategy, but because I have to spend 10 minutes trying to position the camera so that I can click on the fucking rift while fighting the boss. You can't zoom out more than 3 fucking inches.

I sincerely hope someone figures out how to edit the INI to remove these zoom/camera restrictions, otherwise the game is simply unplayable from a tactical standpoint.

The controls in this game in general are just......vomit worthy. Sad

We can't break barrels! Rage Every time I see a barrel in RPG I try to smash it to pieces lol

Anyways, I set everything to max except for shadows(low) and msaa(off). Now it runs pretty well at 1920x1200 as in 60-80+ fps( it depends on the area I'm in)

You can't loot items with a mouse click. You have to manually walk near it and click F or the RMB.

Sigh, so I tried to go legit, and of course get fucked for my trouble. Unlocked fine but can't activate. ActivationUI.exe always errors out with a "cannot connect to servers" message. Looks like it is trying to connect to proxy.novafusion.ea.com (159.153.98.92) on port 443. The logs are full of:

AccessDRM_AccessDigitalV4 GetNewLicense License Request Server HTTP response code=404
AccessDRM_AccessDigitalV4 GetNewLicense License Request Server response state code=4

Anyone got any suggestions? Errors out regardless of VPN server, or even turning off the VPN before trying to activate. Not blocked in the firewall, etc.

Too early to say for sure, but the controls and camera restrictions are horrible, as I've said. Definitely a huge minus in that category.

Also, even though I made a male character, apparently I'm a hermaphrodite, because when talking about/to me they refer to my character as "her" and "she". Not sure whether this is a bug, or if it's because

Right now, sadly no. The gameplay is a mess with k/m, the tactical cam is useless since you can only zoom 1 inch, and the companions are absolute fucking retards with a death wish.

Doesn't look like Bioware even have a tech support forum for it. I assume they palm all that off to EA now.

I haven't contacted EA, as I gather they will say "come back on the 20th when the game unlocks in your country". I've searched for the error, but only got a few hits for similar problems. Looks like most other cases were related to not being able to contact that server at all (blocked in the firewall or hosts). I can connect to the server, it just gives a 404 (not found) error (if you block the IP it gives a 408, timeout). I assume it is asking for the wrong thing, although I have no idea how that is possible. I've done a repair, deleted all the activation files and redownloaded, etc.

It's in russian but use google translate you get this

Want to know how many times the average of the code LoF.exe being transferred from HDD to memory and back in one hour? 150000 retry copying records. This is 10,000 times greater than normal. DRM continuously decodes the game code into memory and encrypts obratno.Eto one of the most idiotic use of encryption techniques, which I have ever seen. Despite the fact that the small pieces of code (maximum steam kilobytes per entry), are stored in one memory block. Playing the game for 4-8 hours (depending on the quality SSD) means that the unit block can be goodbye forever. "

This picture shows that Denuvo wrote around 30 GB worth of data in about an hour. If what they say it's true then this anti-tampering system shorten the life of you SSD quite a lot. Imagine playing 5 hours of this you get a read/writes that total about 150 GB.

It's written by me Reaction Well, I just compiled information from different sources and tbh I was mostly trying to stir some shit up lol

The first part is taken from rpgcodex(?) forum and translated into Russian and the second part (the picture and SSD test results) was posted originally by one of the gamemag guys in DAI thread, so I just copy-pasted his post.

After that I translated the second part to English and posted it here. Very Happy

It's kinda funny how information hops from one forum to another etc..

I can already see those Goty charts next month - RPG of the year 2014 section, with Dragon Age 3 boldly occupying the first position, covered in pink sparks, unrivaled and universally acclaimed, the savior of a genre that was getting stale, one-sided and obsolete, a modern masterpiece, new standard have been set, history re-written!

I don't know about you, but I'm already uninstalling all those (wrong) role playing games with obsolete bald neckbeard men and deep voices, dressed like bears, they're so pre-2010s and totally offensive.

FlyVPN is the easiest and most hassle free in my opinion (just disconnect from it after you've launched the game once, as long as you don't close Origin you can restart the game if needed without being connected).

Is anyone else getting audio hitching during the dialogue? It's only for a split second, but it causes them to skip or repeat a word. I've noticed my frame-rate dips by about 20 when this happens. Is this the super duper encryption scrambling data on my legally bought copy as I fucking play?
