The darkness thing is a issue with the current unpatched version of the game, change AA to SMAA (Or off) and you should be able to use HBAO+ without this glitch.
Alternatively removing the patch.dat/patch.fat file apparently also solves it but this will remove a lot of data related fixes as well.
As I said, I am with AA off. But I guess I will just wait for the day 1 patched version.
Haha! I had a mission to protect a truck while it delivers supplies and I was supposed to stand in the back so I could defend it from attacks otherwise it wouldn't move ... well I didn't want to give up my Buzzer... soooooo...
I parked the Buzzer in the back, held "descend" and "forward" to keep it from moving, and defended the truck from there
Man I so want to play it, almost spun up FC3 today just because of that feeling. While not the greatest on story and characters. The game was fun, and gave enough freedom to muck around xD
I've tried running most things on high at 1080p but it's a bit stuttery, what are some of the things in the settings I can change to make it a bit smoother other than lowering the resolution.
Just a quick question, how is the optimization comparing to fc3? I played fc3 on low-medium graphics without problem but im not sure if i can play this one on low graphics.

Typical Ubi optimization, aka badly done compared to others out there. Tweaking the settings don't have that great effect. I couldn't pull off Medium with 560TI (nor was I really expecting to get away with that ) and even lower it still kept me from enjoying the game.
Therefor I'm just going to hold off until I can afford a GPU upgrade, no point in playing it when being somewhat able means it's detrimental to the gameplay.
(Star Citizen's Arena Commander ran better, FC4 was more on par with the Hangar module )
Wish I could play this (and some other games)... The fans on my GPU are kind of busted so the cooling on it went to shit. Can't really play a lot of games right now, since as soon as it's a game that uses the GPU in any meaningful way it heats up and my PC "dies" pretty much. I'm afraid this PC is actually done at this point.

The mouse acceleration is fucking awful even though it's apparently turned off in the options. It's especially noticeable when you're sprinting. Also, the game is riddled with rendering issues. Trees and bushes are constantly switching from a 2D sprite to a 3D model. Shit is constantly flickering and it's seizure inducing. Ubisoft should be ashamed of themselves for all this shit that they're releasing. Sadly, the majority of the fucking morons out there are still going to reward them by purchasing this piece of shit too. Just look at the success of Early Access. These bigger developers are just following suit.
This was rushed. It's Far Cry 3 with fancier particle effects but released in an abysmal state.
Fuck this industry!
Not all, some of us have wisely decided to skip this game, after the terrible FC3 "hip teenagers in da war" storry and setting, written by the marketing department high on cocaine.
Wow the mouse response is the worst. I can't remember a game having mouse movement this bad in a long time. Says mouse acceleration is off and it moves in slow motion. Turn it on and it's only better if you move a lot. Just amazing how something this bad can get released. Going to shelve this if/until it's fixed. Would hate to have $60 invested in this or AC:U. Ubifail should be ashamed to release games this bad.

I actually had a brief moment where I wanted to do that, but the cynic in me dismissed anything from happening (been disappointed enough in the past) so I went on my way.
Bet next game I'll play and have a moment like that, that I will see where it goes and be massively disappointed again.
I used the original skidmarks release and got to the end of the prologue, then loading screen and crash.
Might be something like Interinactive hinted: something to do with saving. Mine spun up the saving icon and crash. Or it might be something totally random seeing everyone crashes on different points.
Had the skidrow fix and it crashed too when opening the door. I took another fix and it works really nice. Updated my drivers and it fixed my flickering issues.
