you should be able to extract them as if they were .r01 no need to change this is just the new way winrar handles there shit

Sometimes people pack files as seperate RAR's rather than a RAR set, you should simply extract each RAR seperatly and move all of the files given into the same folder. You shouldn't need a new version, but you could try updating anyway just to be sure.

associate the 1st 001 file with winrar,
When you right click on it, select the option to open with and then select winrar.
When thats done double click 001 and bobs your uncle

Just open part1.rar and it will unpack everything else in sequence as if it were .r00 or .001 format.
