So I got this game with my AC xbone bundle, and it's been pretty decent so far besides the insanely retarded random frame rate drops.

My question is - When you first start the game you play this special mission where you play as like a Templar way back in the past; Then the normal game starts. I can't figure out how to get back to this screen though. It was like a screen where you could choose other various missions like that. Is this an option that opens up later on as I progress?

On KB&M you just hold right mouse button, and if you want to draw the gun hold the left mouse button, when you release left mouse button you shoot.

I can't imagine playing an AC game with a pad.

So fucking bad Laughing

You're right, it is so bad.

Before it was LT to aim, done

Now you have to hold X to bring the gun out, hold LB to bring up the crosshair, then hold RT to aim with the gun, what the fucking fuck?

Guess I'm ignoring guns then.

You don't need to hold X just hold LB then RT

It's the same, you still need to PRESS AND HOLD DOWN TWO buttons to aim a gun.. it's retarded..

Haha, that was a good read, thanks lol!

It contains a lot of cherry-picking, and also a share of pure horseshit, like that France was liberated by the USA during WW2. USA entered WW2 only becuse of fear that Soviet Russia would have the whole Europe up to the Portugal. They joined the war when Hitler was already in full retreat, when Hitler was advancing, Americans were sitting put behind the ocean, and the difficult battles were won by Soviets at Stalingrad and Moscow alone. And that would most certainly happened if US boys stayed at home, but at least there would be no need for Berlin wall.

Also, French medieval knights were the single most powerful force in whole Europe, and later French armored sergeants were the best elite shock cavalry you could have. The fact that much middle ages military terminology comes from French is no coincidence.

Lastly, the original Franks were basically Normans that later conquered and subjugated the Anglo-Saxon inhabitants of British Islands, and Charlemagne, the king of Franks, was one hell of a conqueror.

So much for cherry-picking.

Wow, this patch was really good for me. Played a 1-hour session and for the first time I didn't have any 5-10 second freezes and stuttering was very rare Smile

I think FPS stayed the same though, but that's ok, the stuttering and occasional freezings were what annoyed really annoyed me.

This horrible piece of crap is nowhere next-gen. Maybe if you look into how unoptimized it is, I think we can callt it next-gen. This crap on low textures have worse textures than call of doody, yet it stutters and lags and slows down in cutscenes... (GTX 760 2Gb, i5-4570, 2x4Gb Corsair 1600MHz RAM)

Instant uninstall for me... Too bad, I was excited for this one. If other companies will follow this trend I think I will just stay to my "simple" online games called Dota 2 and CS:GO...

I wouldn't uninstall. The gameplay itself is very good IMO. I really like what they did for the key assassination missions, and how they sort of gave it a Hitman type of feel with different options. (And I hope in future games they make ALL the missions like this. IMO it was very lazy of them to only make the key assassination missions like this. If even the side missions were like this it would have made the game pretty badass.)

I also love how alive the game feels now. People complain about the crowd sizes, but I don't know why. I've been to pretty much every major city across the world, and the shit is crowded. It captures the feel of a big bustling city perfectly.

There are a ton of side-missions as well, and I love the detective missions.

Gameplay wise it's defiantly a step in the right direction when it comes to the *land* portion of the AC series. When they take this new format and then pair it with the naval aspect like black flag it'll be a killer game.

But yes, the technical issues are killing the potential success of the game. The game runs like absolute dogshit. I don't have the PC version, but on the Xbox One the framerate issues are directly tied to badly coded LOD issues. There are quite a few bugs where it is obvious the engine is rendering for shit that isn't even visible on the screen, and then this causes a massive framerate drop.

I will say that the game looks good though, even on the xbone which isn't even rendering it at full resolution.

So give the game a chance. If you liked the prior games you're only going to love this one.

And I agree, it's not 'next-gen'. I could see console peasants treating it as such though because for a console game it's a huge leap forward. Although that's at the cost of the game running at 20FPS half the time. Laughing

Wrong forum??
The pc version is a total mess and unplayable. Had a terrible experience with 3 crashes in 30 minutes where our hero either stopped moving or explored the paris sewers and got stuck. And the constant FPS drops alone are enough to kill the game experience.
The game not running well on consoles convinces me that the game is beyond repair, perhaps the'll fix the framerate issues for the console versions, but there never be able to fix the game for the majority of pc rigs. I'll skip assassins creed this year. Not a big deal, there is still FC 4 for open world goodness.

FC4 isn't even anywhere near the same type of game. Doesn't even matter if it's the best game ever or not. FC4 is an open world FPS. AC Unity is an open world platformer. Totally different games.

And IMO, I enjoy the AC games more due to the history aspect, and as I mentioned there isn't much wrong with unity when it comes to the actual gameplay. It's just hampered with the dogshit slowdowns on all platforms. This is why I wouldn't uninstall the game just yet. When they fix the coding in the engine that is causing the slowdown it'll be fixed on all three platforms. Note I say when because they wouldn't dare leave the game in this dreadful state on the consoles and lose all their console fag sales.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

So tell me how did you enjoy visiting Paris in 17th century Marty McFly ?

What you visited is a metropoly area of consisting of almost 12 milion people. And in this game its a city of around 600000 and yet population per square km looks bigger than in modern day Tokio or Beijing. Easily the best AC yet

I get something from this that I've never had in an AC, and it's simply because it's easier to die, groups of enemies present more of a challenge as they attack you without waiting, and you can't just 1-hit everything

I haven't unlocked everything yet, far from it, but at the moment it's feeling pretty good. I still think the visuals are great too

True that, if the performance gets much better this is easily enjoyable.
