latest iterations were shit, thats a fact. cmon, first they ported their shitty old and outdated engine to 360/ps3. then they used their new fox engine, which could be powerful but they werent able to use its power in the right way. pes 2015 is the best one since years, thats a fact too, but pc version is just a disgrace for the masterrace. even the console version lacks a few important things. if they manage to improve that next year and fifa doenst deliver imporant updates as well pes will be superior again. dont know what konami was thinking, just look at the menu -> almost 1:1 copy from fifa. and now they also added that gay trading card pendant to fut..

Janz, the crusader against PES
I do understand you though, if you like something, and know how good it can be, then you are more critical of it than most people, so it can appear like you are just hating.
I still don't think we can call your opinion fact.

There are some magical PES moments in this game once again.
- AI taking the ball without ever touching it (the ball changes movement direction in mid air without anybody touching it)
- Going through my players
- Tackling violently without fear of freekicks
- Moving with the ball stuttering (without really finishing any animations) so that at the slightest hint of my player approaching the AI player makes ridiculous dribbles that you can't prevent with players who turn like tanks.
- Force fields that prevent my player from moving towards the AI player or the ball.
I would settle for a game that has mutual rules for me and the AI. Like when there's a tussle for the ball the player's strenght would somehow matter whether I lose the ball or not. Now it makes no difference. I lose every single time and the skinniest twig of a player pushes my player away from the ball. I'm getting a feeling that the player stats don't mean shit against the AI.
Would this finally be the year that I'll pass this game? Or maybe I'll test it a little more with the isodemo. Tried the demo on ps4 few weeks back and I don't remember it being very different. Probably looked better.

This is...officially the Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde of football games.
The presentation is abysmal, and I mean truly. While models and faces are still good, the fact that pre-match cutscenes are gone for mysterious reasons (because suck it PC gamers), that some pitches look exactly like PES 2008's (not kidding) with the winter ones being plagued by a strange brownish tint, and that there's basically no lighting at all in the game, makes the whole thing look awfully retro. The graphics have been downgraded from last year's PC version, there is no doubt about that. PES PEaSant edition. Damn you Konami
(SweetFX makes the game look a lil' better, but miracles can't be done here. Remember: no lighting. At least rain is there this year, even if it looks like ass.)
The gameplay on the other hand is definitely fun, imo. Quite surprisingly, I'd say xD
It's an evolution over PES 2014, so expect the same way of playing, only more polished, responsive and varied. Just like last year, I had to disable v-sync completely from the drivers in order to remove the annoying delayed controls, now thankfully the input response is optimal.
It's far from being perfect of course, this PES has the typical problem of the series (some automatized movements that cannot be stopped, disjointed animations here and there) but overall it's very pleasant to play, hands down the best iteration since PES 6 as far as I'm concerned, assuming that you use full manual (truly mandatory, imo) including shooting, which is pretty damn satisfying. Licenses are a joke as usual, too, PESedit will have a lot of work to do.
Almost forgot, GKs are still epic:
In terms of depth, vanilla PES is definitely better than vanilla FIFA, whereas the modded FIFA (+ custom sliders) feels more natural and less "rough" overall, albeit still too flashy. Different approaches, as usual, I'll play both. One thing is for sure, there's still a long way to go for these games to being considered football 'simulations'.

This pretty much sums up the story of "soccer" games in the last (4-5) few years |
Haha yeah , modding has definitely saved FIFA this year for me (since the vanilla game was really too fast and arcadey), whereas PES has received noticeable improvements without needing any external help.
Gameplay wise, this year's PES is spot on, imo. It's a shame that the rest (graphics/presentation/some secondary animations) is not adequate enough. I don't care too much, but still, being treated like third world scum ain't a good feeling.
The ideal would be a PES/FIFA cross-over, like some mythological hybrid.

Gameplay wise this one is in a word magical. It combines fun with sim aspects. There are ofc some flaws ( some reactions of the goalkeepers seem delayed) but this PES is hands down the best footie game ever. They even fixed the advantage rule and I had a yellow card when the action stopped several minutes later.
Trouble is that I have now 2 good football games (the heavily modded FIFA and this one). I have to admit though that PES cpu play variation and build up is miles ahead of FIFA.

Yeah. The problem that PES has with regards to Fifa imo, is you don't get the same emotional peaks playing a single player game.
Fifa is addictive because it's frustration or elation, no in between, purely by the nature of playing against another human.

I'm not quite sure I understood what you said, but the satisfaction and enthusiasm when scoring a goal in PES is certainly bigger, playing either against cpu or a human opponent.

the unique selling point of pes is gone, that was imho that every goal looked different. after playing friday and sunday a lot (ps4 version) with friends i must say almost every fucking goal looks almost the same, gk glitches a lot and cmon konami -> does the keeper have only animation? its hilarious! after a while we switched back to fifa 15, its more fun when playing 2on2. dont get me wrong, not a bad game but it has lost a lot of its magic from the past

Every goal feels different because you have different team build ups and the tactics options are phenomenal. Have you even enabled "Fluid Formation" option? In vanilla FIFA the cpu is one way dimensional in terms of attacking. In PES 15 you can see the cpu: making 1-2's, long passing, changing on the fly tactics, changing sides, trying long through balls etc. I have not even mentioned that cpu teammates AI is just brilliant in the new PES 15.
I play and have fun with both games. This is a truly great review for the new PES by OS:
