Tapping RT shoots it, but if you want to aim while holding rifle up you need to hold down that RT while holding down LB Laughing

Encountered a new bug! Very Happy

After pressing 'e' to sabotage an alarm bell, Arno became frozen in place and I was unable to move him.

Favorite things so far:

-Fell through game world seven times

-Became stuck in a ledge after attempting to vault over

-FPS drops to single digit during critical moments resulting in the camera aiming at the sky or falling through the game world

-Arno becoming unresponsive

-FPS inside building with little characters lower than on the lively streets of Paris

-Enemies not reponding to anything, as if their A.I. is turned off

-Pop-in galore

You can tell this game has dat Ubisoft seal of quality.

In few words if you don't have 3+ GB VRAM you have to stick with Low Tex - TXAA
If you have 3+ GB VRAM you can pretty much max out everything.

un true, sadly.

AMD cards do bode well with ACU. my r9 280 3gb make it run like arse. 22-32 fps on 900p medium settings.

your assumption might be true with Nvidia cards. for AMD its far from true.

i just wish a new driver will come out soon. when the game runs well it's amazing. im loving it. sadly that's only 30% of the time.

Meh. Just started the RLD release: I only get about ~30fps with low or medium settings. High goes down to about 20fps.

My specs: i5-2500k, 7870 OC

Man, this has to be the worst running game since some years for me Surprised (maybe it's finnaly time to upgrade my GPU too)

Gonna wait for some more patch(es) before trying again Embarassed

I had slo mo cut scenes with Ali, but smooth with RLD. Outside of that, about the same.

I am still amazed how ugly the game looks.

AC2 and AC3 had certain stylized beauty, the graphics was far from realistic, but it was pleasant to look at.

AC4 was a step down, especially the cities, but the sea action was good and pretty.

However, screens and videos of AC5 remind me the era of FMV adventures with cutouts of real actors on rendered 2d backgrounds, like Gabriel Knight 2, or Phantasmagoria.

It's realistic looking, but in a bad sense. Everyone looks like a member of a high school historical reenactment club, putting on some grandpa's trousers, a wig and an old theater sabre prop and off to reenact French revolution with friends after school.

Maybe 18th century Paris was full of squalor and looked like this, but I blame the simplified lighting model and reduced shadows, everything seems to lack depth and consequently, atmosphere.

I think they're trying to fix as much as possible with the 1.2 patch for damage control. A lot of people will be pissed since they didn't release it before the weekend though. I won't be playing untill that patch gets released.

welcome to paris, the most overrated city in the world.
the city you are actually looking for when thinking of visiting paris is prague Razz

well that would be fine setting aswell ,but not sure which era would be best for AC in Prague

I think the best setting would be first half of the 15th century during Hussite uprisings when catholic Europe organized several crusades against Czech hussites and failed. You could insert many assassin/templar speculations there.

In fact, Andrej Sapkowski, author of the Witcher books has already done that and wrote a fantastic trilogy on Czech Hussite era called God's Warriors (Narrentum, God's Warriors, Lex Perpetua). It's witty, loaded with well researched facts as well as fabulations about surviving adepts of pagan magical cults, inquisition, etc.

Other era that comes to mind is early 17th century during the reign of Rudolf II, who was a great sponsor of arts and also alchemy, and who invited such prominent figures and Magister Kelley or John Dee to his court, hoping that they could discover the way to transmute base metals to gold and thus save his extravagant reign from financial ruin.

A more bizzare settings could include 1970s after Warsaw Pact invasion that quelled democratic, pro Western movements and started an era of repression called "The Normalization". Exprezident Husak as a Templar adept is a thought amusing enough.
