Yea, day time looks quite bad.
Took some screens:

Edit: Is anyone able to play co-op or connect to Ubisoft servers? I'm getting error.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

This works in every AC game:

what an awkward method. just disable shitty ingame vsync, then force vsync from drivers control panel along with triple buffering. |
My memory is a bit fuzzy but i recall this not working with Black Flag. I had to use D3DOverrider to force triple buffering then it worked. Hopefully i won't have to resort to that shit again. It's hassle for nothing

Btw anyone tried to force SMAA using SweetFX or another method ? That's probably what i'll do
FXAA is terrible , MSAA and TXAA just kill FPS. Why the fuck is there no SMAA option in this game when Watch Dogs and Black Flag ? Damn you Ubisoft you dumbasses

Total biscuit take on the game:
Quote: | Can't sleep and Unity is out so lemme tell you about my experience so far. I only got access to code yesterday so I'm not that far in but there's a promised Day 1 patch that by the looks of it is SORELY needed. Getting that game to run on max settings is a nightmare, it's a huge resource hog. My 2 980s barely keep up. In the small tutorial area I was looking at some nasty drops one 1 980, prior to Nvidia putting in an SLI profile.
As it stands I can JUST keep it at 60, though it has some drops below at times. The game doesn't really look like it justifies that. It has some killer popin, just like Watchdogs did, actors very obviously and inconspicuously switch between detail levels depending on your distance to them and often just appear out of nowhere and disappear at random.
Lighting is glitchy as hell and overall texture quality is poor. I will say the faces and mo-cap quality is excellent, it actually has a kiss that doesn't look like 2 robots rubbing their faces together, so there's that. The problem that I had yesterday was just the MASS of bugs. Guards spawning in from the sky, NPC actors wandering through terrain and clipping through objects, scripted sequences breaking at random and stealth seems like it's just busted.
I had a guy spot me in a stealth section, run up to me as I was standing and then "lose track" of me. I was right in front of his face, he just wandered off. Thus far the game seems like quite the step backwards. Combat feels much more sluggish than Black Flag, but I admit I have yet to unlock a lot of the weapons and gadgets, I'm not that far in. So I don't have much to say about the gameplay up to this point (its been super standard Asscreed stuff) but this Day 1 patch is sorely needed, because the game without it is a buggy mess. |

@DarkRohirrim
No, but everything is just on High. Maybe cranking the environment up to Ultra gets rid of the blurry rooftops. The interiors look better.
I haven't gotten far into the game, maybe other parts of Paris look nicer.
But what I really want is a SweetFx preset to introduce a bit more color
@S.S.S
There aren't any hubs. You find silhouettes that represent co op. If you accept the mission, it searches for other players. I have no idea if there's a way to play specifically with friends.
I do know it's fucking mandatory, as is Teamspeak if you want to get any fun out of those missions.

I know that there will be a significant day 1 patch, and that the LoD is very good in Unity.
The fighting was re-written from scratch up - possibly needs polishing.
The guard spawning is a new functionality, pulling them from a whole poll of guards or something - possibly needs polishing too.
Picking my copy tomorrow night.

The "day-1" patch is already part of the game, if you don't have it already (Steam/UPlay pre-load data.) you'll be prompted for a 900MB download which will bring the game from whatever version you had (1.0 for retail disc versions I guess.) to the current 1.2.0 build.
There is a future patch planned though which will probably fix more issues and also that thing about enabling tessellation using Nvidia GameWorks.

Compared final uplay and steam version and two files differ but changes are small and not crucial IMO.
Also all patch_01 file are really different from uplay-preload and final uplay/steam version.
Also steam version readme removed v1.02 entries and both .exe give v 1.0.1 ingame so my guess is they actually downgraded for some weird reason.

Remove localization.lang file to enable English language, and start from ACU.exe - this apparently get the game running, but might possibly have issues on anything other than Win 7.

Works flawlessly and should save, but now it does it all the time. Just a minor thing, and the missing options for choosing all languages, ofc.

No its not the same protection.
Ubisoft games always have problem with saving on first cracks. Nothing new just need time to emulate new saving system.

Oh yeah, that guy. Sigh, I exactly remember the times where I wasn't registered to rin but always came there for good information. That place is a wreck now with all these fresh 'scene-lurkers' that know it much better than others.
