It's like having a discussion with a 3 year old.

i wasn't aware that we were discussing here, since you suddenly turned this all about you? i was observing that steam drm is received extremely well in general public, and most people don't know it's a drm or ignorantly think it's not a drm, because Gabe is master PC god and all that nonsense...

various posts on steam forums of this game warning about bad denuvo drm and people even demanding to remove it or they won't buy, ignoring the fact they already bought 10s or even 100s games with steam drm.

On my rig with single GTX 780 ti, 12 GB ram DDR3 (3xch), and I7 950 @ 3,07 GHz runs perfectly smooth on ultra settings. After I turned off post processing it's not crashing any
more.

EDIT:

maybe SLI causes issues?

Guys, why Denuvo is so hard? I read the company statement what the method is:

Quote:
Denuvo Anti-Tamper technology prevents the debugging, reverse engineering and changing of executable files to strengthen the security of games. It is not a DRM solution, but rather, Denuvo Anti-tamper protects DRM solutions, such as Origin Online Access or the Steam license management system, from being circumvented.

And what exactly is this - an encryption? Is not possible to remove it (may be it's piece of code in the dll/exe) and stop from encryption the DRM itself?? Tell me please.

It's a fair warning though, I extracted one of the UI textures, it was 8192x4096 texture resolution so yeah if that's an indication on texture size for the rest of the game it'll quickly use up a lot of VRAM.

It is indeed, however, the way it's written might be interpreted differently. I just hope they are not trying to find a scapegoat.

I don't have the game installed atm so I can't check it out but I think it didn't use more than 3-4Gb VRAM. Besides, according to tests, it can run at ~55-60fps on 2Gb cards (max quality)

It might seem that instead of trying to fix issues they basically say "go get a 6Gb card lololo"

Worry not; steam used to be regarded as uncrackable too. We were fucking back then, but steam is fucking now.

The same will happen to denuvo, eventually.

The message and the way it's mentioned in the patch notes could have been better, come to think of it this game might be one of those "Next-gen(tm)" games that cache VRAM depending on amount so even if you had say a 16 GB Tesla or Firedrive class GPU it would still try to use some 90% for cache.

That does speed up loading and unloading resources though but it makes things difficult for "lower-end" GPU's or rather GPU's with under 3 - 4 GB VRAM and it's also impossible to accurately measure how much RAM is actually used by the application.

It has benefits but it's probably mostly for the unified RAM architecture of the PS4 and XBO so as we've seen now there's been several games with greatly increased RAM requirements.

what the fuck, anyone seen this?

Quote:
"Resource monitors for RAM and CPU consumption numbers, memory viewer for trying to figure out what makes it tick and track address issues, SSD analysis tools for those delicious dead blocks and data tracking
Wanna know average number of times parts of LotF exe code are tossed around between RAM and HDD in the span of one hour? 150000 copy/write iterations. That's about 10000 times more than usual. DRM constantly decrypts the game code into the memory and encrypts it back. This is the most bullcrap usage of encryption software I've ever stumbled upon. And even though code chunks are quite small(couple of kilobytes per go at worst), they are all stored in one memory block. And playing the game for 4-8 hours(depends on SSD quality) means that you can say goodbye to that block."
