I was so blind and I pretty much bought 95% of the DLC for BL2.
Never making the same mistake.

$9.99 for an extra character?
This is what happens when the previous two DLC characters were successful. They're getting greedier and greedier with this.
I'll bet you for Borderlands 3, the Siren or Merc or some character that obviously should have been a main will be DLC or preorder exclusive. These greedy publishers keep pushing the envelope to see how far they can mess with people. And thanks to all the people that buy into it, that's infinity.
Scratch that. B3 will start with less than 4 characters. The excuse? The rest of the game is so massive (and yet require it's own record-breaking list of DLC add-ons) and the roster for the series has grown so large they're going to "let people choose" which DLC characters to add on. Despite knowing there will be people who buy up all that DLC regardless of they plan on playing it or not.

At what lvl did you quit? I'm lvl 14, but I guess it's one of those games that you have to play in short bursts - maybe once or twice a week about 2-3 hours. Especially if you simply want to mindlessly shoot some weapons, because the shooting itself in Borderland series has been pretty satisfying, but obviously it can get boring and repetitive without taking a break.
The story and characters are absolute bullshit though, just like SR4 - totally absurd and over-the-top nonsense.
After this they should stop making these games using the same graphics and mechanics. The novelty is long gone and no one really seems to care about BL anyway. Just let it slowly die, like Dead Space did...

As usual with BL I'm playing the game with some RL friends. We're taking it slowly, 1-3 hours at a time at best, 1-3 times a week. And I can honestly say I'm having a blast with it (lvl 21 now). The story isn't anything special and the humour kinda got old (though there are still some pretty good parts), but the gameplay is possibly the best ouf of the three Borderlands games so far. The main reason for this being gravity and jumping mechanics. Additional mobility really ups the pace of the game and I love it. Being able to make a double-jump and then crash on my enemies from above is something I'm missing sorely whenever gravity turns back to "normal" (which, thankfully, doesn't happen all that often) and I know I'm gonna miss it from possible future games, if it won't be present. I seriously don't know how I played two previous BL's without it Also, another welcome change is the "shorter" skill tree, with capstone skills at level 25, not 30.
One thing I found badly designed was the balance of optional quests. We're not pushing the storyline overly fast, yet most of our quests are usually grey "trivial" which means they really aren't all that challenging. That sucks. But other than that, it's a pretty good, albeit somewhat rehashed game.

It kinda does, actually. Just like Arkham Origins, BL Pre-sequel is a prequel that uses the same engine, most of the same mechanics (with some alterations and enhacments) and generally feels a bit rehashed - like it was created to give fans something to chew on before a more appropriate, evolved and "next-gen" sequel could be cooked up.

Well then, it shouldn't be treated as something else. But the hook from Batman is a bit off. For half off full price it's a good experience and unlike Origins, it didn't reuse the whole game/city. There's lots to discover and overall the feeling is like BL2, could be much worse.

I'm not saying it's a bad game - quite the contrary. But it doesn't feel like a real sequel, just like Origins didn't. The idea behind both games is, in a way, pretty similiar, even though its implementation may differ.

i quit at level 6. the main characters are all dull and makes the game so much worse. same weapons same everything and the humor is very bad.
the game is similar to arkham origins because they are not direct sequels to the main games and are made by different studios to buy the main developer time to make a proper sequel. even if arkham origins used half the map from arkham city it still had a very strong gameplay and story unlike borderlands the pre sequel

I fnished a complete playthrough (up to 50) and while it has everything BL2 had, including few interesting new gimmicks (butt-slam, pew-pew lasers, gravity), it lacks consistency.
In the end, it's just a super-DLC that's not really worth its retail price (not even mentionning the season pass).
It's entertaining for some time, but there's nothing left to do once you're done with a character and it's far too easy for a Borderlands veteran.
At least it has some nice designs here & there, waiting on an updated freecam mod.

I'll get the goty, in the distant, very distant future. And assuming that there will be a goty instead of gearbox's "goty... kind of, it's missing one or two things" shit wil BL2.
Until then,
