No I think it just runs out of VRAM (leak?) so either sacrifice some other setting that affect VRAM usage or lower texture detail.
(Seems the game also reserves some 500 - 600 MB as a cache for something thus the in-game VRAM amount reported being lower than the GPU total.)

Nope, here on recommended or extra, i still get low res textures, while only loading up about 3.3GB of my 4GB vram..

Edit: "Cache spot shadow map" causes it here. Turned that option off and all is fine, even on extra (and only uses 2.8GB vram)

So I'm still trying to figure out. Does this game actually have dedicated servers or is it just P2P?

What a great AMA they did, they ignored important questions particularly those pertaining to the PC version, while answering questions such as:

"Ferkulj

Do you feel that this game is a true Next-Gen experience?"

Laughing

Also, what the fuck is a "next-gen experience"? It looks and plays the same as previous installments except graphics are somewhat better and you can jump really high.

"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

MW2 best MP ever Reaction

CoD1 and 2 are looking to slap you in the face for that Neon. And once they're done, MW1 wants to kick you in the nuts for preferring its watered down successor.

The first modern warfare was fun, sneaking around in Chernobyl and that stuff.

I don't remember much from COD2, there was this redheaded British sergeant and screaming Commisar and the game ran like ass since I had a PC several years old back then. Razz

Hmm that reports the full 6 GB from the Titan GPU.

I found the value controlling that in config.cfg

r_videoMemoryScale "0.85"

I changed it to 0.95 for now leaving a small amount for whatever the game needs for it.

You mean that it doesnt cut from its initial vram? Strange. Maybe that scaling parameter is just a bullshit, just as cpu requirements and main ram ones in previous game

Unsure how it works, in my case 0.85 would mean 15% of my VRAM is reserved for something, maybe it doesn't reduce/reserve VRAM when you have more than 4 GB available since it reports 6 GB in that video?

My increase of this value changed the in-game VRAM amount reported from 3.4 GB to 3.8 GB, not much but it let me toggle another option without the game forcing a reduction in texture quality. Smile

Well I guess reviews will be in the 9's and 10's again.

You have 4gb vram? I have 4 and it didnt force me to lower anything, even supersampling lol. Pity theres no indication of vram used like in gta 4 for example, it only shows initial vram value - x mb they cut on god knows what.

Positive reviews for cawadooty dont suprise me, if this particular chapter in the series has no technial issues its usually a good/decent game, you can say whatever you want. Singleplayer is what it is, few hours of america hurr durr pew pew with some 'cinematic' sequcences every few minutes.

If multiplayer isnt broken by some servers issues it mostly is really good for casual/semi casual fpp players, leveling system is nice, addition like coop challanges and zombie modes are also nice, overall good value for money required. I had shitton of fun in that cod where there was nazi zombies and you played as presidents or something like that, even if it didnt have many maps and complex gameplay design it was fun as fuck. Also nothing more relaxing like jumping to the game and kill some whining noobs.

Unfortunately I cant get that experience nowadays in arena shooters cuz they basically dont exist or they require constant practice and boosting your skills, if youre not playing for few weeks you are basically out of the loop (and I dont have the time needed to practice games anymore, like I did 15-20 years ago). In cod/bf games it isnt that serious, if you played some quake/ut back in the days you can easily jump in and in most of the cases, after learning some maps/guns you will do just fine.

Cod/bf just nails that sweet spot for people who want some competition but dont have the time to learn complex maps, items placement, timers, skill based movement, circle/strafe jumps and so on.

My third favorite after W:ET and CoD:MW2 is COD1 Smile I couldn't get into COD2 and COD4 for some reason.

I've easily put several hundred hours into CoD4 MP but then, I've put double that into MW2. Nearly 400 hours on Steam and then the same again on AlterIWNET and its various derivatives. While CoD4 is arguably the better game, something about MW2 kept me playing long after... especially once Alter came along and gave us dedicated servers.

RAM and HDDs, the prices just went astronomical and never really recovered. The Chinese production plant fires crippled memory prices and the Thai floods crippled HDD prices. Not to mention didn't one memory chip manufacturer go bankrupt?

Recorded some Ultra settings gameplay with SweetFX (SMAA, Lumasharpen). Should be 60fps video, but right now it's 30fps (YT is still processing it, meh).

The game is well optimized though, usually getting around 74 fps wihile capturing video on i5 3570, GTX670 OC, 8 gigs of ram.
