GOTY stuff will be extremely difficult for me this year.

So far though:

1. Wasteland 2
2. Divinity: Original Sin
3. Watch Dogs
4. Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
5. The Wolf Among Us /The Walking Dead Season Two (still not sure which I liked more)
6. Valiant Hearts
7. Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments
8. ...
9. ...
10. The Evil Within

AC:U will probably jump somewhere before Watch Dogs, and quite possibly before Divinity as well. I very much doubt that it will beat W2 as far as I'm concerned, but who knows.

For me so far it's:

1. Dark Souls II
2. Alien: Isolation
3. Watch_Dogs
4. The Evil Within
5....

Still pending to play Wasteland 2, Divinity, Wolfenstein (this one could make spot 5 at most, but doubtful), South Park: the Stick of Truth. Plus the upcoming games this year of course.

Will this be the first AC game to make one of my top 5s in a specific year?

But yeah, definitely the worst year in the whole 2010's decade so far.

Nah, perfect timing. I've yet to return to the game after I doubled my RAM and upgraded GPU. Shall be sweet as I never had any performance issues when driving even in vanilla state of the game. Just ran out of RAM and couldn't use Ultra Razz

But 1st need to finish Far Cry 3, then back to this and after that maybe something I've not yet played at all and maybe even something not Ubisoft Very Happy

How does this game run now? Does it still run like crap?
I'm considering picking it up since uplay keys are pretty cheap but if I can't get decently solid 60fps on medium-highish settings (on GTX670, i7 2600k) then I won't bother.

You should be able to get 60 most of the time, but in the downtown areas the frames might be less.

Thanks.
Reading further in this thread has caused me to reconsider getting it though. I should probably save the money for something that doesn't run and control like crap and doesn't require uplay.

Yeah but WD can be had for $7 on G2A and at that price it's worth it. I'm surprised how big is the city world. Agreed that it is choppy as you drive around. It seems like it's loading assets and it does a poor job of that but gain, $7 isn't much. Just go in with low expectations, like I did on my last date.

WD is a ok game but the story is all over the place , its like they knew how to present it but did not knew how to wrap the story around it ... making all missions disjointed segments

Started playing this today.

on my gtx 660, ultra textures cause stuttering even at 1680x1050. Its noticeable straight away as the game loads, and even more so in driving. As soon as I drop to high, game runs fantastic, in the vein of best GTA games from the past. I can even afford 1.5x DSR.

Playing maxed, minus textures on high and SMAA, as 2x MSAA is all I can afford, and it only becomes useful at 4x, which is too much for my 660.

Outside of the ultra textures stuttering, I don't get the overwhelming negative attitude towards the game. doesn't look amazing, but its fun to play.

Spent 4 hours straight playing. Only did 1 missions so far, everything else was spent on side missions.

Its a lot better than Sleeping dogs imo.

I love the insane detail in the city. so many different random conversations among the NPC's, and the often humorous npc descriptions as well. Driving model is not as good as GTA series, but its better than sleeping dogs and pretty much all similar games except gta, saints row, and mafia 2.

Looks like I am going to have a great time with this one Pffchh

This game left such a bad taste in my mouth after finishing.... even with all the bugs and the stuttering I got through it. I remember ultra textures were unplayable on pretty much any system... was this ever addressed?

I guess it paid off to wait. No bugs or stuttering now Smile

At this point, after 2 days with the game, I can say behind Alien: Isolation, my favorite game this year when it comes to triple A titles.

I only did 2 main missions. Spent all day just doing side quests cause the core gameplay is fantastic. finding ways to reach and unlock CT OS towers, doing gang hideouts and fixer missions, its insanely addictive.

its very satisfying taking down all the enemies without even using weapons.

And the city is really well designed. lots to explore, and the attention to detail is amazing. I still continually hear new convos and messages between NPC's, and i've put over 10 hours into the game.

I actually feel bad that i'm yarring it, because i'd love more games like this.

Glad I gave it a chance despite the overall internet crying against the game.

I loved the game itself, played through start to finish and had an absolute BLAST. Truly had an awesome time playing W_D, but the technical issues are numerous, frequent and crippling. I recently tried it again on my 780 but it still hitches and stutters when driving fast and still drops below 60 quite a bit on highest settings.

Admittedly this is stock (patched up legit copy) without The_Lost or Maldo's mods and fixes, but still. Broken game was broken.

I think the ultra textures were tacked on the engine last, kinda like tesselation in Arkham city so they stutter like hell.

As soon as you go to high textures, the game performs amazing.

I mean, i'm playing all maxxed except textures+ SMAA injector+ 2x TXAA on a single gtx 660, and it runs great (obviously not 60 fps), patched to 1.06 version, which is latest, and no mods or fixes.

I spent like 5 straight hours playing just now, insanely addictive. Hope the franchise survives the rough and buggy release.

I might buy a uplay code to test it out Smile

Still a decent user base for online?

First of all the Titan is a waste of money it's a real shit product from top to fucking bottom! Secondly I play on 1080p with ultra and 4msaa perfectly smooth 40-60FPS with a 970GTX@1515MHZ. Well and a 5820k@4,1ghz and there is no problemo! So that's your big problem apparently.

And the screen....well all I'm seeing is Mafia 2 that is looking worse than WD. So what is this pic implying? Yeah WD doesnt look 4 times better but uses 4times more ram?!

Shift-Del the game directory on the drive you have it installed.

Search 'C' for 'Watch Crap', and delete all.

Run 'regedit'.

Search for 'Watch Crap', delete, pressing F3 to go on to next, until done (leave audio entries though, as they can fuck your system if you delete)

Done.

Use CCleaner if you must remove entry from Programs & Features, its cosmetic, but might as well.

Reboot, and be free of the nonsense that is Watch Crap Wink

I remember when WD launched and everyone was like OMG OMG game runs like shit on radeon.
But I ran on ultra with my r9 290 since release without any stuttering or issues, sure fps drops down to around 40~ while driving at max speed, but something I can live with. But " the way its meant to be played " crowd still seems to struggle with this nvidia based game.

well r9 290 does have 4gb vram and stuttering usually caused by lack of it
