Creative Assembly has announced 'Corporate Lockdown'; Isolation's first add-on content. It will add three new maps for the game's survivor mode—each expanding the Sevastopol's story.

"In ‘Corporate Lockdown’, Seegson Executive Ransome has learnt that he has been abandoned by his paymasters," explains the press release. "Knowing that the Torrens is on the way, he decides to make his escape and hitch a ride on board, taking decoded Nostromo data with him. However, while escaping he wants to tie up a few loose ends."

In addition to the maps, the add-on will introduce Gauntlet mode—challenging players to complete all three Survivor challenges back-to-back without dying.

Back to the locker, then. Corporate Lockdown is due out 28 October, costing £5.59 / $8. It'll be followed by four subsequent packs with last one releasing March 2015

Im confused, I thought survivor mode is just doing random objectives, and now they announce a survivor mode story addon?

Does the base game survivor mode have a story?

I haven't started survivor mode yet, I just finished the campaign and took a 2-day pause so I wouldn't know about the current in-game contents, but they have announced that the addon packs contained in the Season Pass (Deluxe edition in my case) would feature a new character which each new release of a pack. Ransome being one of those new characters (according to the news article), and him being mentioned several times in the terminal logs I guess it would make sense to tell part of the back story that happened before Ripley arrived in Sevastopol Smile

I can take a guess and say one of the new characters will be Sinclair, and other could be at least one of the doctors, I'm thinking about Lingard.

Well story content for such a fantastic game, I might even get with my playfire credits.

I uninstalled the game without even trying survivor mode as I expected just random welding, reactor start up with no incentive other then a time limit or surviving as long as you can.

Seems a flare is like a fetch stick or noisemaker, popped one in the vent and dropped it, I keep walking and turn around the alien is there checking it out, usually don't see them in vents like that maybe he smelled the flare or something. Then he saw me and well, that's one bloody vent

Had Amanda been smart she would have taken one of those laser pens with her, could completely control the Alien then as it chases the dot. Razz

For anyone that has yet to play or is still in the process of playing this - DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE NEW NVIDIA DRIVER (344.48 ). As of today, Oct. 23, it causes the game to hard freeze when loading map transitions (elevator, tram etc.)

I had to find out the hard way. No fix thus far that I have found apart from rolling back.

I played with the drivers today to test the DSR feature, and I used an elevator to transition from chapter 3 to chapter 4 just fine.

In other driver news, even downsampling w/ DSR can't remove the jaggies from this game.

I'm sorry, but do I strike you as someone who makes stuff up for the hell of it? I usually don't post unless I have something tangible to contribute - so I'm a bit confused here.

Anyway....

And Guru 3D, and the official Alien Isolation forums, etc. etc.

There's a real issue with these drivers when it comes to this particular game.

Just in case, the reason for my comment is because you seem to be a person who usually has serious technical problems with many games here, even in games where rarely other people do Razz

Well, after finishing the game on medium (don't stun baton me guys) I can really say that I wasn't involved in a game since... Machinarium?

The art direction (sound, visuals), the tension, the alien lore (and their respect over it) and the gameplay (did I say tension?) were fucking ace in my book.

These days I'm watching people play it on twitch without worrying of being spoiled and I'm getting more and more details of all the love invested in this game. I've come across one tiny detail which moved me, and I risk sounding like an emotional pussy, but there it goes: the working joes, nasty and lifeless as they are, raise their arm to protect themselves from being hit before the last, finishing melee stroke. The animation and their milky blood splattering all around violently makes me kinda sad for them Smile

As silly as it sounds, this detail -among other little ones- makes me feel the love CA invested into making this game. This game is something to be experienced and beheld. I know it's not for everyone but for the hardcore sci-fi fan is a MUST.

I don't own the game, played through the ISOdemo but I'll surely get it when I have the funds to do so (I'm kinda broke right now), I did the same with Machinarium and now I own 4 copies of that game lol.

Kudos, CA and SEGA. The faith in a good Alien game is restored.

Pretty good summary.

A whole lot of love and attention has definitely gone into this game, and without doubt, the best of its kind, thus far. The detail is just stunning, more so if you have watched the movie I'll admit, but regardless, it's a work of art gaming wise, and we all would have screamed for something like this 2 years ago. Not too sure today though, as there is just so much 'nit-picking' around, but one hell of an atmosphere there is to be had in this gem, helped along with the still fresh images in my mind of the great movies it is born from.

I agree with jackbomb. The game's a masterpiece. It'll definitely be my GOTY.

Not only did the Alien game universe so much need such a game, but the survival-horror genre as a whole! I still can't wrap my head around game 'journalists' complaining the Alien AI is unpredictable and constantly makes their life in the game a living hell. Guess too much hand-holding in games takes its toll on some modern 'gamers'. And IGN definitely takes a Darwinian prize for awarding the game a mere 5.9. From a few light years away I can see their upcoming COD: AW review contain phrases like 'Spectacular!£"", "God-like!"!!!" or "Even better than sex!"'. lol wut

Same here, probably even GOTD for me, at least so far. Last time I was this happy with a video game was during the thief 1-2, ss2 and dx 1 era.
