HERCULES
i admired the INTENTION Of the story, wherein his status as a demi-god or not was ambiguous, and that continued over into the world where fantasy is explained as grounded in reality but based on peoples lies, fears or imaginings...
but it seems what the scriptwriter intended got lost when the director didn't understand a single freakin thing he was doing... The idea that Hercules MIGHT NOT be a demi-god, and purely just a man with an impressive legend is LOST somewhat when hes doing clearly superhuman feats like booting a cart through the air and smashing people back 10 feet with his whacking club...
fuck you brett ratner, try a little subtlety for once for fucks sake.
Hercules is a fantastic character, with a rich story set in an amazing world.
It's just crying out for a serious attempt.
This film just goes for that middle of the road fantasy adventure, and basically succeeds at that but nothing more... Inoffensive with a fun cast, but lousy direction. It felt very similar to watching clash of the titans, but given the choice, id pick titans over this any day.
a middle of the road movie gets a middle of the road score for 5.5. would watch again with beer, but id be pretty indifferent about it... come on hollywood... make a decent hercules movie This is right up your alley, a story that already exists, all you have to do is rip it off and put some cgi into it!!!!

Fury 8.5/10
Probably the best war movie I have seen in recent years ( maybe the only movie with majority battles in a tank? can't think of any other ).
It also depicted all sides fairly, no shameless propaganda.
There were some minor mishaps tho, but nothing too major.
I hope there are some follow up movies with modern tanks or helis for example, because it was quite refreshing for exchange.

america doesn't do fair depictions.
im sure it thinks it does in its own mind, what with the russians having red glowing eyes, the germans all having horns, and the koreans all eating babies, but in reality, it just cant.
i guess they're pretty fair on the muslims though, i'll give you that

Great! Really looking forward to it, a bit more now even.
Kevin Reynolds made "Beast of war" in 1988, its mostly forgotten now, but its pretty good: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094716/ Its about a russian tank crew getting a bit lost in Afghanistan.
Edit: Btw if you havent seen his version of The Count of Monte Cristo, get that too.

while i agree with most of you about this movie, there is yet one little bit that may did escape you. At the end, the whole movie (or story) was just that, a story told by that one guy narrating at the end
"but then again, what the hell do i know ... i'm supposed to be dead by now"
which means the whole movie is nothing but yet another story told. So it kinda fits in with the whole exaggerating of his deeds and what not
Just some early morning reflexions

Yes I did note the ending, but I felt it was at odds with the bulk of the story being about grounding the character and looking 'behind they curtains' if you will, and specifically showing us the truth behind the legend, so it seems a bit of a mixed message to me to approach it that way in my opinion, which is why I pointed it out.
I see your point, and that would have been a good way to approach it, maybe even intended by the scriptwriter, but I still maintain the director made a total hash out of it.

Dead Poets Society (1989) - 10/10
Amazing movie, it's like you the viewer gets stuck in a British stuck-up boarding school nevermind that the school is american.

Wrong turn 6 4/10 - Sex, Sex, Gore and more Sex..Great combo...Worst one in series though, very bad story, acting (except for sex and gore). Just watch it for that.
Camp X-Ray - 7.5/10 Great depiction on the Bay and soldiers. Good acting, story.. Recommended.
Hercules 5.5/10 - Expecting better. Was not bad, but nothing to remember. Oh well.

Hah! I knew it, Ayer is the men (except for Sabotage ). I'll have to wait my usual several months for the blue ray from the internet space though, because watching another dubbed movie would make me suffer too much.

Even Shia LaDouche was great in this, I was honestly surprised.

LaDouche isn't a bad actor, just really annoying.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Glorious page number!
Let's be Cops: The reverse 21/22 Jump Street. Without much of the fun. Keegan Michael Key stole the show, tbh.

How much of the cliche "america is awesome" and "nazis suck" is in the movie?

To be perfectly honest, it's quite the other way around, though there's obviously a lot of shit on both sides.

Fuck i want my 2 hours back damnit.. So many stupid decisions.... Like wtf was with the design of Schredder omg.. the people who made this movie are so bad at their jobs..
I have no words for how fucking bad this movie is.

Stonehearst Asylum (2014)
7.5/10
It was a nice flick although I would change the ending a bit.
