That sucks man Sad

But aren't there like a million bikes in Norway?
Why would someone steal yours?
Maybe someone mistook it for theirs?

Well, i don't live in a big city, but a really small town. So someone mistaking my bike for theirs is impossible. Especially since it had a big ass lock with a code on it.

That sucks.
And something like this is the reason why I don't even have a lock on my bike - not to be tempted to leave it anywhere. The only place I leave the bike outside of my room (literally Very Happy) is my workplace - in a steel cage with a magnetic lock for workers only, insured by the company.

Happened to me a year ago. I left home for work and when I got outside my bike was gone. Got really angry and wrote a really pissed off letter which I put in the elevator asking who the fuck stole my bike and whine about loads of other things.

Found my bike where I left it a couple of days after. I had totally forgotten that I left it outside a store I went to Razz

shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

Damn it, sorry about that Kenny Sad What shitass luck. People that steal someone else's bike are just scumbags Sad Did you have it registered anywhere? Insured?

@Stormwolf
Hope you had a registration number on it, if it ever turns up.
Only advice I could give: check train/bus station, school surroundings and party places. With a bit of luck you can run into it.

@Ankh
Haha, something similar happened to me once

Me coming back from Sweden rather late, it's past midnight when I arrive at the train station. So I go back on foot to my apartment. Wake up in the morning to go to work, bike is not there, I go berserk thinking someone stole it when I was gone for 3 weeks...

My coworker arrives, I ask him what he's doing. He says: well you told me to pick you up, since you had your bike in for maintenance while you were gone and you'd pick it up after work.

I felt quite stupid. Laughing

It was a cheap bike i got for free, so no insurance. Free, yet invaluable Sad

Absolutely no idea. For me it was a means of transportation, so i never took note of the brand. All it know it was a decent bike, and it's a damn shame it got stolen Sad

That sucks. That's why I don't leave it anywhere. My job has a place that I have a key to, and it's like outside my window so I know nobody can steal it. But still...

Mine is quite shitty, old and rather worthless so i think people would rather steal other bikes before they would steal mine.

I think that's, sadly, the way to go these days Sad My brother has had 3 really expensive mountain bikes ... all fucking stolen. There's no point having anything other than a rusty nail with wheels, some unscrupulous prick will just steal it otherwise.

You need a good u-lock and something sturdy like a sign post, nobody is gonna steal it then. Had the same bike 5 years now, never left it out of my sight unprotected.

Or you can do this for 100% protection http://blog.performancebike.com/2013/09/12/real-advice-how-to-lock-your-bike/
