DA1 was not great by any means. It was decent. The strory was pretty cliche, the core gameplay - stale, visuals - unimpressive. Around 7/10. Only when compared to DA2 it suddenly became perceived as this "good ol' bioware" masterpiece.
Origins was great when it came out in 2009. It was a different creature in quality compared to other RPGs released around that time. It was visually very appealing on max+high res and the animations did the job well in my opinion. The voice acting was good, the plot was good for a story set in a medieval fantasy setting, too.
I missed some more variation in armor/weapons, but beyond that it was a very good experience. My first playthrough I played on Hard, and going in blind I was challenged quite a bit, making each victory more meaningful. I've also played the game on Nightmare but I feel that playthrough went suprisingly well, knowing the flow of the story, the type of enemies, and to stock up on resurces for heal/mana potions and which abilities to prioritize when skilling up the characters.
Skyhold is a huge fortress and the seat of your power as the leader of the Inquisition. From there, you decide the fate of nations, direct your agents throughout Thedas, pass judgment on your enemies, and decide how you will personally take action against the Elder One.
Along with the Inquisitor, companions and advisors will reside here. While Leliana will make a place for herself in the fortress' rookery, Sera can be found in the Skyhold bar. The fortress will serve as a hub for romantic encounters and catching up with companions.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
From what I have seen, it sounds like Skyhold is the place you go to in Origins on the way to the Urn of Sacred Ashes, the frozen castle ruins that Genitivi has to unlock the door to. Some of the earlier material mentioned the village of Haven, which is where you first find the cultists holding Genitivi.
I don't realy know where you ppl read The Keep is DRM...
If you remember, DA2, you install isodemo version, then log onto your origin acc to get the dlc bonuses and whatnot...from the game...It was not DRM...
Seems like this is the same, extension of the system so to speak.
Until the game is released, we won't know for sure, but it seems likely that there will be some sort of check in place to ensure your copy is legit. Whether that can be bypassed or not remains to be seen, but logic would suggest that their intention would not be to allow pirates free access.
Well, if they are going to use a strong protection like in Fifa 15 (maybe even more improved), then we will have to wait for a release. (month or two).
I'm sure that even the new patches have an improved version of the EA-DRM. (just my logical thinking).

everything looks very good from all things shown or written about the game; the only problem i can think of is getting bored from the sidequests (and since youre kinda forced to do them...)

It was not the best RPG of all time but it was still above average imho. Loghain was a great character and his speech at the landsmeet was epic. He stole the show as far as i'm concerned.
That said The Witcher is still a much better saga than Dragon Age

I don't think you can say it as bluntly... there are preferential reasons why someone might prefer the setting of DA over TW. For instance, in DA you have much more freedom in creating your own character, while in TW you roleplay as an existing character.
Actually, the reason I'm so hyped for DA3 is that it is the only recent game of its kind with AAA production values (creating your own character in a high fantasy setting, with a strong story and RPG mechanics). There are other good games in the genre, for instance Divinity:OS, but they don't have such high production values. Somehow, whenever I play too many non-AAA games, I always feel like I miss that little extra polish, cutscenes, voiceovers and so forth.

Yeah, at least there's going to be plenty other games to play while we wait for crack - in an event it truly will take so long to crack.
