Quote: | Why Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's maps took two years to make |
Quote: | "[Maps] took two years because first, you get to design them the way you know, then you're playing and playing constantly [to make sure they're balanced].
"Then as the boost jump started to solidify more, then it's like, 'Oh, they can get on the roof.' You just can't go back and add that. You got to design. We ripped parts of the level out, and rebuilt it. |
Quote: | Schofield also revealed that the team took a break for two days during crunch - a period in development when staff double down working on a project ahead of a milestone - late last year to work on a game jam, introducing several new ideas.
"It was a wonderful thing, the team loved it, and they loved the fact they let them do it in the middle of crunch time, and we got great mechanics out of it," he said.
"We knew that we had a very creative team, and we knew they were very dedicated... what we did is we shut everything down for two days and said, 'You're not working on the game'. |

It takes two years to copy the layout of maps from previous games?
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Pretty pictures and a bunch of nothing.
But hey, if game bloggers say it's REVOLUTIONZ and ZOMG then it must be true.

well trailers are made to sell the prehurrdurrs
i have pretty low expectation , and they even lowered afer my friend played it on EGX
but could be enjoyable 4h ride to satisfy my "inner derp" for this year |
Still gonna sink some time into the SP campaign to satisfy that need for shooters. Besides, I wanna laugh at how they're saying it's a new engine and how shitty it's going to run on mid to high end hardware.

Haha yup! Pretty much. If we've managed to endure Ghosts' campaign (mostly for the comedy factor), we are already vaccinated for the gaming ebola. You can't sink any lower than that, no matter the attempts, so that's a plus.
(And I'm already ready for them 30 cinematic fps with my rig, that goes without saying xD)

Maybe you managed to endure Ghosts' campaign , that shit got shift+deleted faster than it took to download BO2. God, it was awful. Somehow, I am glad they're not advertising absurd stuff this time, such as a dog or fish AI. And I am sure the strafing will work EXACTLY like how you use the space bar while in a Titan, but a tad clunkier. Dunno, just seems clunky, for some reason; to me, anwyay. That's pretty much the only thing slightly worrying me. But seeing as how this is gonna get ISO demo-ed, I don't really have the legal right to complain .

In my defense, I did it just for the lulz. It was basically the Sharknado of first person shooters, only worse. I wanted to know...how far they could go! They went pretty far I must say, I'll give 'em that. Kinda disappointed about the dog though, all that marketing and it only breached a couple of doors in slow-mo and killed a few dozens of terrorists without even bark fuck yea amerika once.

Dont worry, the game wont run on PC anyway over 30fps when you max out all the PC exclusive unoptimized HDLOLAO and AA effects.

People who troll/bitch in this thread, you better not have bf4, because if you do then you're the biggest hypocrite
As of right now bf 4 is far worse then any cod:
fucked up release, we we're still in alpha after retail, took them almost a year to fix this shitty game
improper balance
no free DLC even after their fiasco

Nope.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Damned bluray... now that they have 50gigs available devs just avoid compression to save a few cpu cycles. I'm sure most of those 55gigs are uncompressed audio files and hi-res "cinematic" cutscenes...

They had to copy-paste the maps from previous versions and finally merge them into one -> 30gb
Then they had to record high-res cutscenes in glorious cinematic 24fps -> 20gb
Finally they have implemented the new revolutionary "Enemy AI". The enemies go away from you as you approach them. -> 5gb
Total 55gb.
