Spoiler: | Quote: | Hi all,
Attached to this post is a press release which will go live tomorrow which announces that the new release date for the PC/PS4/XB1 versions of the game is now March next year. We wanted you guys to read it here first and to try and expand a little more on the reasoning.
Primarily, this has come about because a couple of other big games have announced they are shipping around the same time as our planned first date. We know it might be a little hard to believe but this would have had a very significant impact on our initial sales (and the initial sales period is critical as that's when the majority occur). It became immediately clear therefore that we'd need to move away from this release window.
The other factor at play here which I'm sure most if not all of you are aware of is that the game is still lacking the fixes and polish it really deserves. We've been working extremely hard on tracking towards the original date, and could indeed have made it, but deep down we knew it wouldn't have resulted in the ultimate level of quality that we wanted. Project CARS isn't "just another game" for SMS, it's the start of our very own IP/brand which we believe can live and be successful for a long time. It's critical the first release is a solid one therefore to lay the foundations for those plans.
As such we decided that a release early next year made a lot of sense all round. January is traditionally a very slow month for game sales (people having spent all their spare cash up to and during the holidays). February is affected to a lesser degree so March is an ideal window.
We appreciate there may be some disappointment but hope most will see this as overall a positive move for the project. The main issue with any move like this is a financial one (paying for the additional development time), but fortunately we've been able to resolve this, so it's full steam ahead now in finishing the game and creating the successful launch the game deserves.
Finally, to answer a question which is sure to come up - the additional time we have will largely be spent on the aforementioned fixes and polish. While we may include one or two smaller features which had originally been pushed to post-release, there really isn't time to add anything significantly new, or we'd just be back in the same position of the game lacking the quality level at release it needs.
P.S. please don't share this information outside of WMD until the press release has gone out.

Its not news that November is the month of AAA, so I don't know why they decided on that date before, only to back down now.

They prolly thought they would be further along, good that it's postponed since it needs more 'polish time'.

Meh, seems it's only on that forum. Can't find it elsewhere, don't even know if I had an account there or not and I'm too lazy to figure it out

Edit: Mclaren P1 on a wet Spa-Francourchamps track... that thing is a fricking rocket xD

Try racing during a thunderstorm or heavy rain with fog
I guess I'm a bit too used to Assetto Corsa, cause now that I've tried pCARS, I'm not that hyped about it anymore. The steering wheel feels weird, the force feedback is bland. It just goes "a lot of force in one side, a lot in the other one" and there's no delicate twitches mid-corner like in AC, that suggest the suspension is constantly working against the g-forces. The wheel just stays stable unless you hit a bump/kerb or really overdo it and lose traction.
Also, there's still quite a lot of things missing even though v1.0 is supposed to come out soon.
And I don't know if it's just me, my eyes or my GPU, but with the graphics stuff on High/Ultra the game doesn't look nearly as amazing, as in the many, many screenshots on the net...

Sabin the AI is not present on some tracks. Try another track / car combination
Heavy hitters on performance are detailed grass (looks bland without though!), high particle counts and those crappy rays.
In the camera settings I'd enable shaking and move the world movement to 75 and geforce to 100.
Eiffelwald looks great, is a long track (set rounds from 10 to 1 if you do not plan to race for the next few hours ) and has a really good performance. Select custom date, medium clouds, 16h evening, january 20th 2014 and enjoy some nice sunset As car the BAC mono is quite good or the lower powered radical as they CAN be very quick though are still very good around corners.
As for gamepad controls, I am currently back on the gamepad because seting up my fanatec sucks. MAke sure to select the xbox one default and scroll to the bottom and select preset 1, disable the opposite lock and then set all deadzones to 0.
If you feel confident about the FPS you have load up Azure Coast

Got a strange issue with it.
When I go to a replay, I get a black screen with the replay controls and no way to get back.
And when I pit, it does the same thing with the black screen, except I can hit escape twice and get visual back

In the changelogs is a known issues section. Replays apparently sometimes work and sometimes don't. And my missing motion blur is apparently known too. I hope they fix it soon, I like motion blur in pCars

I'm kinda wondering if I screwed up with my choice of download.
did 829 for 60%, then it basically died, and the one for 830, detected existing files and filled the rest of the gaps.
Kinda curious if I've got some mismatched version now.
