I tried it and no, the fix is not permanent - you have to adjust your FOV every time you load a new save. Also the removal of the black bars dropped my fps with 10 frames (and sometimes more). With the black bars I've got 30 steady fps, and now its mostly at 24, sometimes dropping to 15.

mikami y u not leave fucking bethesda with their idtech5 shit and go back to platinum games to make vanquish 2 and a proper evil within?
btw, apart from obvious homages with some scenes taken directly out of resident evil 1, anyone notice that the titles of the 2 games have the same meaning?
its fairly obvious this is supposed to be the spiritual successor to re, and it still is a great game "within", but i cant help to think about how great it could have been with platinum games.

I think you are doing something wrong. It works great.
+R_FORCEASPECTRATIO 0 + cheatengine fix.
Small black bars are still there coz I'm playing at 16:10

At first it didn't work for me either for some reason, so I restarted cheatengine and it did the trick
1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB
2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

Its funny that 21:9 monitor has so fucked up screen since that is the proper "cinematic" aspect ratio  Black bars are probably there just to squeeze extra fps from those shit consoles
