I always order from www.simplygames.com.
If a UK release date is Friday I get the game Thursday and if the UK release date is a Tuesday, I get the game the Saturday before.
Played the game for about 2 hours last night and I love it but those black borders really are terrible! |
Are those black borders constantly in the game or do they change if it's a cut-scene?

Well i just changed the screen format to zoom on my samsung tv and also the display area adjustument in the game menu to 0 or till the end off the screen for the hud and menus. Don't know yet what to choose. The ugly black bars are now gone and no picture is lost in gameplay.

i am playing the crappy ps3 version, the good thing is that since its on cfw, most likely someone will get rid of the black bars soon enough, they did the same with beyond: two souls.

Yeah but that was only because QD left the debug menu in the game, the AR/black bar issue wasn't fixed in Dragon's Dogma and those files were accessible via CFW too.

nothing new, known since months. just a way to bypass jap censorship. they would not have been able to sell it with the gore, but the dlc is free available which in some kinds bypasses the jap laws

Oooh.
I must admit despite the black borders which I can eventually overlook, Im really enjoying the game. As Im trying to play Shadow of Mordor, Alien Isolation and The Evil Within, Im only on chapter 5 so far. The invisible enemies are great! Seeing movement in puddles and then things move on their own as they brush by them was really unnerving.
