In another scene for example, he's riding his bike in the park and there's a police officer who says "you can't ride on the grass" and he goes "ohh no?!?" and all her clothes fall off.

I'd watch this Laughing

Excellent!
Then all I need now is to set up a kickstarter campaign and get Patrick Stewart to play the protagonist in this film. Very Happy

Aha, I knew I heard that movie concept somewhere before Very Happy

Lego Movie - 7.5/10 - fun.
Zero Theorem - 4/10 - weird, boring, uninteresting. Nothing like Brazil IMO.

Bogowie (Gods)- 9/10, it's a Polish movie about Zbigniew Religa, the guy from this pic:

The picture was taken after the first heart transplant in Poland (1987). It was published in National Geographic and was later chosen as a National Geographic photo of the year. One of Religa’s colleagues who helped him perform two transplants in an all-night session rests in the corner.

I usually hate Polish cinema, but this was a damned good movie. It was surprising they didn't attempt any whitewashing, the movie showed his contacts with the Communist Party, his problems with alcohol and the fact that he was an atheist.

They struggled to fit the story into a movie and it just turned it into a real mess. Didn't hate it though.

20 mins into Lucy and I'm thinking: wtf is this drab...
A movie with half the shots a documentary... it's not clever, it's not well done, it's just plain crap.
Great writing as well lol wut

Edit: and for the other half: you have a bit of movie and a lecture given by Morgan Freeman...

I thought it would be a mediocre time filler, this looks like someone gave a lot of money to an amateur movie maker however.

Awwww... Trailer was so good, and the movie started off really well, but it kinda fell apart as it progressed... Characters became less real and more forced, unnatural, and it just wasn't quite the rich, dark profound film I was expecting... It had a great idea behind it, and there were moments of something really interesting, but ultimately it just wasn't fleshed out enough... Perhaps director inexperience, a rushed script? It was clearly a low budget film, but that's no barrier to greatness - in fact, I think it was the budget that gave the film such a great tangible atmosphere -this bots were great! Very little cgi, just good ol anamatronics with jerky imprecise motion, it was great!

I'd give a very middle of the road 5/10 for it. Great ideas, poor execution

Classic Hollywood journal type action film .. few cameo appearances .. wasn't bad 7/10, wouldn't go out of my way to see it again. Be a fun film to see with friends, before going out clubbing/bar hopping.

Am I the only one who do some serious drinking/playing loud music/talking with my friends before I go out rather than watch a movie?

Nope .. what i meant was going to a cinema to see a film before going out clubbing ect. That post cinema glow following a city streets flavoured film can be fun as phuck.

Wish I was here 7,5/10

Loved it, while it's not as good as Garden state... the fear I had of having too high expectations was ungrounded.
It delivered exactly what I wanted from it: A good find yourself movie that plays on all your feels.
If you loved Garden State you'll like this one. Smile

Had nothing to do or watch last night. Had Sex Tape in New movies folder. Didn't think much of it, knew it was a comedy.

Watched about 40 minutes of it, then I snapped and tore down the projector and smashed my server with. So now I have no projector or media server. Thanks Sex Tape!

deliver us from evil.

hmmm

the first hour was riveting. I loved it visually, and its pacing, it was wonderful. Then, I dunno, it got a little generic... still good, but not as creepy. But the finale... after it was all done, I tried to think about how it fit in with the events of the film I just saw; tried to make sense of it, but it just seemed to make everything feel like it occurred just for the sake of the film, not because there was some purpose, and that always kills a films rating for me.

Ending was also very generic hollywood, rather than being something surreal or dark, which really killed the immersion for me; sucked me out of the story. I feel like i would have wanted clive barker to rewrite and direct the last 20 minutes, and this would have been a really really really great movie... but because of the ending, a total score of 6.5/10. spooky, and well made, but its impact undone by the ending.
