Played for a little over an hour, the graphics as expected are quite nice and I like the setting very much.

However, the gameplay is incredibly boring, as expected. Laughing

Already covered earlier but this is the in-game graphics settings:



And these are the available console commands:
(Not much here.)



Any advanced tweaking will come from editing system and autoexec .cfg but I'll have to compare what I'm using for the CryEngine SDK and what works here, many cvars will probably no longer work or be restricted.


EDIT: The .pak files can't be accessed either so modding is not possible at the moment.


EDIT: And from the log files these commands are no longer available for use.

I expected worse performance. At least that seems to be good:
AMD 7870 OC, i5-2500k, 1050p: FPS between 41-54 with everything on max

But some SweetFX is needed, looks so blurry

Yea disabling that AA made the picture a bit better.
But Supersampling = only 20 fps Laughing

But not being able to skip any videos the first time makes me very angry Mad
The story probably is just for the sake of having a story. Just let me hack away on enemies, before i got bored more Very Happy

Played for about an hour now, but i think i won't continue.
It looks not bad, but nothing spectacular either.

The finishers were fun the first times, but get boring pretty fast. The upgrade system is boring too. No new combos or something like that, just upgrade your health/focus/ranged ammo and minimal percentages of your finisher boni

Can't play. The game crashes in the main menu ... and with fraps, it wont even turn on

ok managed to start it. The performance is ok. about 50 without vsync. 30 with vsync. Guess I will play it at 30 then... its a controller game anyway.

But man, it does look fantastic.

I don't know what their temporal aa is... but switching it on consts only 2 fps and its the ebst aa I've seen. It removes all shader aliasing, all shimmering and no jaggies at all.
I want that aa in more games. Anyone knows what is it ?

Some of the sys_spec related cvar's can go up to a value of 4 instead of 3 meaning they would be at "Very High" instead of "High" (To use the preset names from Crysis 1) however it's difficult to spot a difference between these.
(Toggling between sys_spec_shading 3 and Sys_spec_shading 4 for example should show a small difference in ambient occlusion quality.)


EDIT: Oh yeah, gameplay but what more is there to say, it's a linear action game with a very basic revenge story or so it seems thus far.
(With lots of plot holes, how does a tribe of barbarians besiege Rome just like that?)

Well there goes all my progress.
The game has a save issue and I only noticed because the game bugged at chapter 3 with no way of interacting with anything.

Quit and restart,all saves gone.
Apparently it's an issue with the steam cloud,but people say it also happens when you play it without cloud saves.
