Excellent game. Poor voice acting though. And why the weird one off mad long loading session when you first play the game? Bet it eats up space in drives X, Y and Z!!!

I don't know why the reviewers say that it's a slow starter. Personally, I love the first part of the game and wish that other games did as good job at building the tension up.

I mean where's the horror in instant gore? I often get p*ssed that games nowdays don't concentrate on story enough, but this one does. We need more games like this.

I second that hayvis, the story is really awesome *and* it build the tension as no other game ever did before.

Check your diary (it says the date) and then subtract 10 years and 1 day... Very Happy

Then make sure you start by turning clockwise towards the 1st number then anti for the 2nd and so on. PS... You'll find the date by the newspaper cuttings. I was confused at first; I didn't realise the robbery was only the day before; I thought it was like a week before or something.... Fast worker this PI.

As for framerate, the 360 version runs smooth, while the PS3 is a jaggy mess that chugs along in slow motion.

^ thats correct

I don't know what to make of this game, Im about 25% in and haven't found one part scary so far and all of the puzzles seem a little simple. I stopped playing after it turned into a stealth game just because that aspect of the game didn't appeal to me although I think I'll come back to it.

I didn't think the voiceovers were all that bad either, when you hit the first town the way the people speak is kind of amusing but I wouldn't say its badly done compared to alot of games.

I can't add any more beyond what I already said Splinter I tryed several different variations of codes based on the clues provided and eventually narrowed it down to either 2-5-1-2 or 2-6-1-2 and then tryed both codes in both directions and eventually one of them worked.

Im too far into the game now to even go back using an old save and try it again so I can print word for word what I did but it worked and later on the other safes I've had no problems.

Im actually starting to enjoy this game alot, the AI seems a little sucky but I'll let that slide because my character now has a pistol and a shotgun and after stealthing my way through the previous levels without guns now these fucks are in for a whipping. Very Happy

you tryed this Splinter?

entering the code from the reset position on the safe i.e. at 0 (not sure if that makes a difference but I did it every time anyway cause it just seemed to make sense)

plus moving the dial to the numbers specified in the code as opposed to moving the dial the number of clicks shown in the code i.e. the proper way is to move the dial clockwise to the number 2 then anticlockwise to the number 6 then clockwise to 1 then anticlockwise to 2.

If none of that works then I don't know, also If you don't like puzzles you'd probably be finding your self stuck alot after that part because that wasn't even one of the hard puzzles in the game. Razz

The safe combonations in this game is really "weird"

2612

Start from zero

go 2 (left) 6 (right) (left) and 2 (right)

in reality you go from 0-2-0-6-0-1-0-2

You should checkout the 2nd safe combo... I don't get it at all...

1-7-5-6 something, and it got arrows showing positions?

but they don't add up.. like 7 = 4 turns left or ?!?!?! But that wouldn't work either, would end up with 981, or 322 something

Anyone got passed that 2nd safe combo?

I've stopped playing in the basement of the church, I don't get it Sad

I never/cheat/guides in any games I play, unless I've tried to solve the puzzles for hours.

But the logic behind the safes in chutulu is weird...

Think about the second one a bit more GP it isn't as complicated as your trying to make it. When you suss it out you'll give yourself a good hard slap in the face for not seeing it. Very Happy

Also yeah I hate playing through games with walkthroughs or FAQ's no point in doing so at all.

I've been trying to solve the 2nd one for hours.. I solved the first safe in less then 20 minutes.

I checked the arrows and they don't add up.. like 1 = would be 2 turns left giving us a "3" which doesn't work, since 3222 in the game isn't possible...

I've had a few guests over to hear their explanation and it doesn't work Sad

Oh well, the next game should have a better safe combo system (maybe realstic?)

if you wanna spoil it for yourself read on GP, personally I thought that puzzle was ridicoulously simple solved it first time in fact. Myst is where I draw the line at obscure puzzles even though when you hear the solutions they make sense.

I've seen half of these puzzles in other PC adventure games GP, plus the game world is tiny compared to something like Myst with all its different ages. Your inventory is very small and the amount of reading and listening compared to something like Myst is tiny all of the above make it easy for me.

l don't think they made it too hard because they don't want to alienate alot of people that could play this as a crossover adventure/horror/fps/stealth genre game.

I know what your saying aboput the puzzle confusing some people and your clearly neither a stupid person nor a bad gamer but even the puzzles that they stuck in Fahrenheit confused some gamers Shocked the library scene hahahahahahaha the game even shows you the solution at the start of the scene when it pans to the areas that you have to look at yet everyone was posting how do I do it, how do I do it. How could the devs have made it any easier. Very Happy From start to finish that game was playable in 6 or so hours without any show stoppers so to speak yet so many got stuck on silly little puzzles and dragged the game out to 10-15 hours. Confused
