Yeah! When I saw that scene on a better copy I thought it's some kinda shadow from the panties but after rewinding couple of times it was clearly hair. I was like ...WTF? This is good fapping material! Laughing

FYI if this wasn't posted, add -benchmark in the target field on the .exe properties. Run the game and it'll run the benchmark.

I'm amazed how well this game runs for how gorgeous it is.

Two things:

1.I threw a molotov at an android and he kept coming at me, burning, and I had to shoot him 4 times in the head with the revolver.

That little encounter I felt captured the feeling of fighting a Terminator better than Terminator 3-4 and video games based on.

It's a shame no developer has yet to attempt a Terminator game that really captures humanity's desperate struggle to survive in a world dominated by emotionless killing machines with the singular goal of exterminating every man, woman and child.

2. This one is a spoiler:

Why Ripley (and the others) take off her clothes before going to cryo sleep always was beyond me. I was just going to jump in the bed with my casual clothes. Its not like your mom is there to make a big deal about it so why should you bother taking your clothes off? lol

The game is really well optimized. With my already dated hardware and all, this is the first game where I apply downsampling. Playing the game @ 2880x1620 now (1.5x) which has helped me reduce aliasing even further (using SMAA T2X). I'm getting between 40-60 fps with 50 fps most of the time. Not bad Very Happy

I was going to try 2x downsampling but my monitor doesn't support it

This game is so insanely difficult on hard, and I'm loving it. It's taken me a good two full nights after work to finally get past the medical section of chapter 5. I had to rig up some really retarded methods for getting the alien to go somewhere else.

Thank fuck for those little cells with the door override.

Oh, and the pipebomb is the most useful item in the game by far. It sends the alien running quite the distance. It's such a resource hog though that you can really only build one per chapter at most though. Although given that it's seemingly a get of jail free card in utility I'm fine with that. Wouldn't want to make things too easy. Laughing

Only through the very first part of chapter 5 (psych ward) and have just about 10 hours logged with the game. Given that the game is 12?13? chapters I'd say my assessment of taking just under 30 hours to beat this game seems right so far.

I can't say it enough, but the Alien is a fucking mega-bitch on hard. It's only pure luck and the randomness of it's actions that I'm able to get through some sections of the game. It will occasionally decide to go through the vents after stalking around for a while and that's when you've got a good 10 seconds to book it somewhere. Although even then it'll have the tendency to decide to drop on your head and fuck you.

Also maybe it's just hard mode - But the noise maker fucking sucks. I put them down and they make hardly any noise at all, and half the time the alien doesn't even hear it. I have better luck just throwing a flare for a quick diversion.

15 missions if I'm not mistaken.

I never tried using the pipebomb, I've used the noisemaker quite a few times though. Very Happy

Later in the game you get a familiar weapon from Alien, and then you can troll the alien a bit. Laughing

Sadly, I get the feeling that the difficulty setting is quite lame. I think all it does is that enemies take more bullets and the Alien needs more flamethrower bursts to get shoo'd away. And maybe that leaning back and holding your breath doesn't do anything for you when hiding inside a locker.

Not 100% sure though. Didn't test the lower difficulties yet.

I'm playing on Normal and it's quite perfect for me Razz Not frustratingly hard and not a walk in the park either.
Quite a few reviewers complained that they lose a lot of progress and have to re-do everything when they die, but for me the save points seem quite frequent. Wonder if it depends on difficulty? Or maybe they just missed some of them.

Well, I love this kinds of games (Amnesia, Outlast, etc.), but this one for now is failing to build tension for me. I've been playing for 4+ hours and I've met the alien once... the encounters are too far apart to make it tense. On the other hand, there's plenty of those stupid androids that patrol back and forth on a fixed path... not very scary.

I hope there'll be more to do later.

PS: I've been beaming this to a 1080p projector via steam in-house streaming, absolutely spectacular on a 4x3 meters wall with 5.1 surround Aww Yeah . (damn, I've got that home theater setup for 3 years and only yesterday learned about steam in-house streaming )

not really.
they have countermeasure to fast seal holes made by meteorites in the hull.
but anyway, i doubt that you can shoot with a hand firearm from inside and pierce the ship/station armor.
eventually with a .50 caliber am rifle like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrett_XM500
the problem is that you can actually destroy unreplaceble electronics.
anyway, in alien universe i would worry more about their http://avp.wikia.com/wiki/Xenomorph_blood from bullet wounds.

Reached the flashback scene after a few more hours of playing, the need for stealth and the desire to explore the areas thoroughly means it takes a while to progress from one area to the next. Smile

The thing is, that's the kind of difficulty I deem lame. It just makes things annoying and not challenging. So, yeah, trying to conserve items/ammo.. not worth it.

They should've made items just rarer (maybe they are, but I think not). Making the killable enemies bullet-sponges (ontop of that*) is just stupid.

@video
First tip is already a bit meh. You don't need to sneak at all if the Alien is in the vents. You can walk just fine. Just don't sprint. You can even walk if the Alien is very nearby. Sneaking seems to be just for extreme close ups and breaking LoS. You don't even seem to generate noise if you walk over clutter and shove things around.
