You can get normal SMAA pretty much without any FPS hit, not sure why you dont use it, games looks absolutely hideous without AA.

I am the complete opposite. A game without AA is a game not worth playing... Laughing

For those of us using SLI only SMAA 1TX is available, disabling SLI gives you the 2TX option. As for performance with and without SLI i have yet to test.

I just leave it at 1TX and play at 4k via downsampling. For screenshots and the like i crank it up to 5k... PC Master Race

I would get those eyes checked, or the contact lenses/glasses you wear are the wrong prescription.

anyone tried GedoSato on it`?

GeDoSaTo doesn't support the game (yet?).

Try forcing AA through the drivers. For nVidia works fine. Game looks now fantastic with 4xMSAA.

are you sure about this? there are no known dx11 AA bits.

Aa is most important feature for me. It can make any game look like real time render.
it does for visual quality the same thing vsync and motion blur do to add to the feel of smoothness foe me

I think motion blur is a ridiculous feature. At least the way it is made in games. My vision doesn't get all blurry and shit every time I turn my head. Very Happy AI is not a drunkard simulator, is it? Laughing

It is the normal way camera catches light. Motion blur helps to smooth motion and make everything looked more real to me. At least when it's well done like in dark souls.

Object motion blur is sexy, but normal motion blur in these days games looks so bad.

Motion blur would be great for smoothness if it was done properly. Like in film, motion blur is a reason why 24fps/25fps is watchable. I don't know if it's even possible to create motion blur effect the way it is done in film - or if it'd be feasible performance-wise. No object oriented motion blur in any game felt natural to me so far.

But even then it wouldn't help as much either because at 25 or 30 fps the latency between player interaction and happening it on the screen would be damn too high.

I'm stuck at the beginning of the game, after the ship flies past the open windows then they close I'm not sure on what to do after that? I went and turned on the generator in the game room then the cafe room opened but that's as far as I got.

It is stupid to use camera effects in game, the funniest thing I notice in games is the camera lens flare????? why would u use it? eyes don't produce that kind of error. It is a stupid addition and shouldn't be used in games at all. Rolling Eyes Smile

@kalato
if I'm not mistaken there is a hatch door in the middle of the cafe room. It's in the floor.

Okay, so, there are few issues I'm experiencing and just want to know if anyone else can confirm.

First one is forced mouse smoothing feature I can't disable via in-game options. It is not as bad and pronounced as smoothing in Vanishing of Ethan, for example, but still pretty noticeable and forced me to do twice as more mouse movement than it would needed without. Wtf.

Another major issue is some kind of weir thin "blurry fog" o\iver everything in the game. I siadbled motion, blur, disabled grain, played with AA off/SMAA and it is still there. Granted, without SMAA it is slightly reduced but it still here. iti s even noticeable when you look at personal terminal screen and text. it is like if the buffer was upscaled from slighty low-res up to the native. this is incredibly annoying.

And whats wrong with that review? Its slowpaced stealth horror game with heavy focus on atmosphere instead of jumpscares (tho they are still present, just not as a main scare factor). If you dont like that premise obviously its not a game for you, and that its completely fine.

Damn, this game is optimized! I don't know if it's only because it's mainly dark corridors rather than complex outdoor environments, but I can max it out on a laptop graphics card. Quite impressive.

GT 750m

Getting ~42fps @ 1080p with all maxed, except AA and SAO. I just tried a bit of the first "survivor mode" mission tho, just to calibrate the settings, maybe it gets more demanding later on. But there it was quite fluid.

Playing on 970 SLI and 2500K @ 5.4ghz, I'm getting 60fps all the time maxed out at 4K resolution, but the GPU usage does get over 90% each at times so it's a close call.

You really should use your highest contrast screens for this game. It looks like washed out shit on IPS/TN monitors.

The attention to detail is spectacular, you can *really* tell this was made with love. Unlike Colonial Marines where the fuckers couldn't even get the dropship/APC scale done properly Facepalm I had an absolute blast with this last night and people trolling about "walking simulator borefest" are obviously more suited in the Cowadoody threads. The atmosphere is delicious, the voice acting perfect, the visuals are amazing and the gameplay is pant-wettingly tense and scary.

I actually do agree with Captain America; this looks like it could be one of the most perfect Alien games, right up there with AvP/Jag and AvP1-2/PC.

Let me guess, some insane volts like 1.5V+ Very Happy? I can run my 2500K @ 5,2Ghz (benchmarks) with 1.5V, 5Ghz i can do with 1.425V (which is pretty good). But i like my PC silent these days, so i have settled for low volt 4,5Ghz clocks.

Great shots. Also besides the visual I think that sound design is at least above avarage, especially on decent 5.1

Even on virtual surround (I use Razer Surround on my JVC S400s) sounds fantastic, hearing the alien creep around in the airvents above you, or stomp off somewhere in the distance really gives you the audio cues you need to sneak around and escape.

Yep, I've got 1.49v pumping into the core. Very Happy

It doesn't make any difference in noise with the Noctua NH-D14.
