Actually that's what @fearwhatnow said, which is what I came to correct.

Being the only NBA game available on PC, I get it, I get why people are willing to overlook pretty significant shortcomings, but let's not delude ourselves out of proportions.

I guess you mean resolution and consistent framerate over graphical features. If the PC version had all the bells and whistles, it would have looked much better.

Well, I don't know about fearwhatnow but I personally never overlooked those gameplay related significant shortcoming. That's why I haven't bought the game in the last few years.

Now I don't. I meant everything looked better than their console counterparts. Of course, there were some mods that were crap. As usual in strongly mod oriented titles, you need to be selective about what to install and what not to.

Yep, that's why I haven't bought one either. At first, it came to PC half-assed, and they promised to fix in patch and bring to same features set in future. Patches came, game remained terribly broken in online. No buy. New versions came, each more limited in its feature set compared to consoles than the previous ones, including the use of the same engine over and over, instead of the improved one. So no buy. Now, I have no faith in them. I will dLd, but no buy.

So far everything indicates that there's no crippled PC version this time around. But yeah, downloading and trying the iso demo first and reading people's comments about the online play would be the safe bet. I have to say though, that I'm personally no interested in the online part Smile

This to me is like claiming GTA4 with enb looks better on PC than GTA5 does on PS3. I guess different look at things. I have seen the PC version first hand, and have 2k14 daily in our office Xbox 360, and the 360 version looks considerably better when taking into account lower resolution. No point in arguing about this I guess, different tastes.

And why would you bring 2K14 into the discussion when everybody here (including fearwhatnow who explicitly acknowledged it a few posts above) knows that the 2K14 PC version was the same as PS3/X360 as opposed to its nextgen and much better looking counterparts for the new consoles? Laughing

Because you claimed it (2k14) looks much better on PC than console?

I disagreed and told you why (my experience with PC and 360 console 2k14).

Why is discussion with you end up with you being unable to follow a thread of conversation you start? I've "experienced" this several times already. You talk about something, I respond, and you have no idea what I am talking about or why I am saying something in response to you.

Maybe you misunderstood. I am saying the PC version of 14 looks worse than the 360 version. No idea about next gen. We have a 360 in the office, not Xbox One.

What? Laughing We've been talking about previous versions of the game (like 2K11 and 2K13) all along. The whole discussion has centered around the fact that you said those versions looked "years behind" to their console counterparts of the same year. 2K14 version was automatically dismissed when fearwhat now posted this:

fearwhatnow wrote:

Which ports did they cut in half? Only NBA2k14 "next-gen" didn't come out on pc.

Yeah, but 2k14 on PC already looks worse than 2k11 on consoles (360,PS3), because that one had self shadowing, ambient occlusion and better arena models. You made those points yourself. Laughing

2k14 was a worse more cut down version, didn;t have proper VC currency for my career, and nowhere near all the mode and graphical features.

mods made it better, but still...

more importatly......why is this discussion going on 48 hours before we are all playing the beautiful and 100% complete next gen version of 2k15 again?

Isn't that great news actually? Finally some capable people with 2k Sports? Very Happy Leftos was involved in the making of 2k15, where as Jao is getting involved with the next one... BTW they got The Czar now as well and it looks like it's already paying off, judging by some of the videos.
