Any recommendations on a Crusader "tank/immortal" type build? Not looking so much for sheer DPS as it means nothing if I end up dying anyway hehe. Thanks in advance.

i would say go dps, at higher lvl greater rifts its very easy to die, so better kill mobs fast, because most problems appear when a fight drags too long, best crusader builds right now id say holy shotgun build and condemn build (this one is only possible on seasons atm)

Hm depends on what you're looking to do. If you wanna be a tank/immortal Crusader in higher Greater Rifts (like 35+), forget it, it can't be done.
If you're say playing hardcore and just wanna have a hard time dying in Torment 6 then that's a lot more viable. Three (or four) of the main things to accomplish this are:
1. 6 piece Akkhan's Set and lots of cooldown reduction on gear to achieve permanent Akarat's Champion with the Prophet rune (150% extra armor and an anti-death mechanic).
2. Indestructible passive - gives you anti-death on a 1 min cooldown
3. Healing through a combination of Wrathful passive (life on wrath spent) and Holy Cause if you use holy skills - life gain on holy damage dealt.
4. If you play solo, using a double Unity setup on yourself and your follower will give you a 50% damage reduction if you equip your follower with a "Follower can't die" legendary item. If you're not familiar with Unity, it is a ring - you equip one on yourself and one on the follower. Incredibly useful for solo play, and basically becomes a must in greater rifts in order to survive.
Hope that helps.

I agree, but they are inconsistent. If the competitive audience is 1% (or even less) why did they spend time on making ladderboards - and even announce it as major feature of 2.1 patch?

Catering to least common denominator? Wouldn't be the first time a dev/publisher did that.

Honestly, everyone knows it's not 1% that actually wants to compete and does it. It's more around 40-50%, but most of them pretend they don't want because they simply can't get up there, so easier to say "i don't care about competing", then you can't lose right? There are obviously lots of people who also don't give a shit about the feature, just like i dont care about hardcore for ex, but nowhere near 99%.
Same with WoW/SC/etc
Only thing that remained constant in Blizzard games and sets them apart from others.

The difference with diablo is though that ladder position mostly depends on time spent playing and RNG. Some lucky drops in one day can catapult you into higher grifts faster than a player who was unlucky for 2 weeks. There is very little actual skill involved.
SC needs way more skill here. And it really hurts me to say that, because I always was of the opinion that D2 needs way more skill to play than MMOs.

I have the original boxed version even though battlenet calls it starter edition which I have installed.i tried to buy the expansion and it said you need to buy the game .
is this not just down to not having a particular version ?

Starter edition is demo version which is free for everyone. If you really had diablo 3 retail key attached to that specific battlenet account then i recommend contacting their support about it.

The global mmorpg market has changed however blizzard hasn't.They haven't got what it takes to achieve the level of success wow had back then all things considered, so they'll just keep milking wow and releasing small risk-free games . Good riddance I say.
Judging by what they did to diablo franchise I certainly wouldn't want to see diablo mmorpg made by these clowns.
They should just sell diablo rights to Grinding Gear Games.
1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB
2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

I have a hard time to see the point in getting more and more dps without pvp. pve is just dull, its like playing a single dungeon in wow over and over.

You can't fix the game by releasing more patches if the game is fundamentally broken from the ground up.

have 100s of hours on my various characters, didn't notice anything broken. certainly i would have noticed something by now.
there is no denying game WAS broken during RMAH era, but that was a long time ago, don't tell me you are still riding on that bandwagon.
