GFX are mediocre. No AA sucks. FPS dips alot for no reason, running everything ULTRA with r290x.

I don't know.... the game just feels very cheap to me..... didn't like it the first time. It's not as satisfying as I thought it would be slicing those orcs. Definitley meant to be played with a joystick btw.

I can't imagine playing it with a derptroller. KB+mouse combo seems to be working just fine.

played a little more and there is nothing special with this game and i dont understand why the high praises, combat seems fluid but the world is boring. 20 missions (not very good btw) scattered across a small open world map. orc captain system is interesting at first but that is all there is to it.

and wtf is it with that fov, its like playing with binoculars

Pressing left shift and mouse 1 to take an enemy down just feels unnatural to me.

Also I miss the vibration of a joystick to add a sense of weight to the moves.

That being said, for any other type of game I prefer mouse & keyboard.

Don't listen to the guys trying to be edgy saying it's a boring game, shit's open world combat set in a grim fantasy setting, what did you expect? If you want story go play Sherlock. Otherwise if you even remotely enjoyed Asscreed and/or Batman AC for the combat you will enjoy this game.

If you're like me and get off to stronghold missions and various systems such as the nemesis and captain systems, you're fucking golden mates. Cool

Does Wraith Burn kill any Uruks that can be stunned\knocked down as in captains as well?

PS OK, it seems to affect captains too. Noice! However certain captains are too tough for this spell to instakill them. it just burns them.

You can get runes to socket your weapons, but not very much loot outside of that.

The zones aren't very big. There's more than one, though.

If you want Arkham style combat done right in an open world, you're golden. Nemesis system is also pretty cool. Not something that would make the game worth playing if you don't like the combat, but still pretty cool.

Runs fine on all high settings on my 780M, which is basically a GTX 680 but with 4GB VRAM.

I don't find the world to be boring because the things you kill in the game are constantly changing. Jump into a stronghold that has 3-4 captains in it and a shit load of minions and you have yourself a hell of a fight. Further, you won't always be able to kill a captain as they'll run away and gain even more power.

Even the act of dying in this game is made interesting because whatever killed you becomes a new captain with their own set of unique strengths/weaknesses and any other captains that were in on the fight get stronger as well.

The combat itself is damn good. There is more going on here then any of the AC games.

The videos folder is 6GB and the sound folder is 3.4 GB. So no, it's not all wasted on cinematics.

Overall a very enjoyable game. I'm not a fan of the season pass DLC bullshit though.

And anyone playing this on mouse + keyboard really needs to do themselves a favor and buy a 360 controller. I can't imagine how horrible it would be playing a game like this or AC without a controller.

So if i don't have the ultra-res texture pack installed yet, why does my VRAM usage jump from 2,2gb to 4gb if i switch from high to ultra textures ?

Is the game just reserving the VRAM or is it a pseudo handicap to sell 6gb vram cards and make the game seem more demanding/nextgen ?

Also why is there no FXAA/SMAA option ? Works fine through the control panel though.

I'd say not really, friend. There is little exploration, and loot comes in the form of runes only. I'd say you would need to enjoy unadulterated combat to fully appreciate this game.

I had a flashback to Batman Arkham City/Origins when I attempted to execute a downed enemy that was lying at my feet only for Talion to run across to the other side of the room and execute a different enemy. Laughing

The same shit happened to me multiple times in arkham, I attempt to use a special move on a thug that's standing next to me only to have Batman lunge across the room and target a different thug.

Yeah, it's almost a year old Alienware 17. It's lasting pretty good for being a laptop. I got it because I moved last year and didn't want to wait for my desktop to go in the mail. It ended up being faster then my desktop with a GTX 680 due to having a slightly better CPU, and the GTX 680 was always gimped with it's 2GB of VRAM.

So, I'm watching Lirik's stream for about 5 hours now ( http://www.twitch.tv/lirik ). Missions are always the same... find a warchief or some other dude, kill him, find another warchief, kill him and always get attacked by 10 enemies at the same time.

I dunno, it does look great but it's kinda boring.

I can't imagine how horrible it would be playing a game like this or AC without KB and mouse. Honestly Wink It's not that I hate controllers, it's just that in my case games like this if done more or less properly are more enjoyable when played with KB+mouse. Smile

Different types of games play better with different input schemes. Yes, you could design a platformer, or a racing game to work good enough with a keyboard and mouse. Doesn't mean it's ideal though. Do yourself a favor and buy a 360 controller. You can buy them for almost nothing used now.

What you're saying is equivalent to the console fags who say that controllers work better then a mouse for a FPS.

Sure, you may be able to master a controller and be pretty good at a FPS with it.

Doesn't change the fact that it isn't the ideal input method for the game.

I own a 360 controller and I still play Batman or AC with keyboard and mouse. They're simply more enjoyable to me. Controlling camera in AC with a thumbstick is like making an omelette in a pot- sure, you can do it, but why the extra hassle?

But you're also having to control character movement, and you're doing that with WASD which represent on/off positions. You won't have the fine motor control using the analog stick.

Though I believe that in your opinion mouse + KB is better, there's also some fact to consider.
What about FPS? That also purely opinion? Or a fact that it plays better with mouse + KB?

I guess opinion is about what you think is more fun to use.
Fact is what is the best input devices to play a certain type of game.
