Don't forget to get the 50mm f/1.8 when you can afford it.

Sure will get 35 (I think). And tripod too. Now I will learn to use it and so on. And that can take some time.
Also need to get remote for tripod photography then and another battery.

First impressions - The quality is fantastic. i all feels solid and hefty. Don't know much about pics yet. Just been pushing buttons for couple minutes now :lo: Need to go to sleep and actually charge the battery.

And the free bag is fantastic. I discovered that it's almost 100bucks bag and I got it for free. It's really well made and have like thousand compartments Laughing

On your camera, 35mm is the equivalent of the 50mm fisk means.

Congrats! Post some pics when you get the hang of it.

Yeah, been using full format for so long (I only had one APS-C camera after all after I sold my analogue gear which the 35mm sensor is based off of) I keep thinking in that format.

Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

LOVE the camera. Posted some pics in general section.

Really need to get the tripod and remote but those are cheap accessories.

Any tips or guide which explains everything ?
Actually found this very usefull http://canonoutsideofauto.ca/play/
And like to shoot in shutter priority speed.

Totally don't understand what is up with expousure meter. It is not metering but I can change expousure ? why

The bag I got for free is fantastic too. 8gb sd card is cool too. Fast and can get about 900 photos

so nobody wants to comment on my shots ? Sad
I have also "learned" how to do night long exposition shots and how to control shutter speed etc. The camera is mighty impressive and I am actually surprised how much control do I have about every setting

here is the night shot with iso 100 and 30s exposition. I dont have a tripod so the camera was sitting on a box in a window

AND why nobody told me that... operating camera in live view and in via optical view finder is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT THING. camera works completly differently. with live view off (just showing info), the camera snaps focus almost instantly, flash helps with focus via "strobbing" and everything is much snappier. Now the touch screen is irrelevant as I wont proboably use it ever since optical view finder mode is much better and battery life is like tripled vs lvf

I have this maybe stupid question about expousure meter.

So... it dont show me what the actual metering but It is only adjustable by myself. I can bracket or expose/ under expose. But on some videos I am watching online, the meter moves by itself showing, what setting should be used. Am I missing something ?

I have this canon 100eg bag and wonder if that is a proper way of storing the camera

Can I safely store my 700d with lens attached on, laying on the side ?like this? I have set the walls, so the camera don't wiggle around. It is easy to get it out of the bag, because of how the handle is aimed up. I am just worried if I can store it with lens of, or should I always be screwing it off... would be a pain to do each time.

Also, The strap is getting in the way of using the camera. i am a bit afraid of not using the strap because I could drop it or smth.

btw. love the camera. Just got a shitty tripod for a spare change and(and its surprisingly not terrible) and might upload some cool night pictures later.

Its good enough, the camera should withstand alot. And one rule: try not to take off the lens too much, you really dont want to get even the tinyest bit of dirt in the body. Leave it on and remove it only to change lenses if its necessary!

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

yeah, I need to get other lens than 18-55 stock I have. It's 3.5 at 18 but 18mm is way to wide and over that, aperture gets too dark to shoot indoors.
The lens is still ok but...

been thinking about 40mm 2.8 stm lens or 50mm 1.8 lens.

40mm is 650pln so thats a bit much for occassional photographer. But have stm and better build quality. I think 40mm should be better than 50(because 50 might be to zoomed) but 40 is only 2.8 while 50 mm is 1.8 but lacks in build quality and autofocus capabilities due to lack of stm.

50mm is also only 350pln so nice and cheap.
Dunno... I also kinda need big zoom sometimes but I guess with a good 40 or 50 prime, detail would be much better than now and cropping would still work.

I just want to have better indoor and night/low light shooting experienc, which is not good with my stock 18-55 lens. Now I have to shoot at 3200 iso, 18mm and barely acceptable shutter speed, to get low light right.

Think I will get 50mm 1.8 but I am afraid it will be a bit too zoomed on my aps c canon
