Just bought my tickets for the first two days. Will be my first gaming con visit ever (or any kind of con to be fair ). Was wondering if any other humper will attend. I'll be there on Thursday from opening to close and Friday afternoon.
Yeah. I don't care about that. I'm pretty much on the same oppinion as Sterling in his SJW video he did for Jimquisition (it was uploaded to YT today so I guess it's a week old by now). I'm all for inclusivity and making everyone feel welcome. Other than that, both extremes of this "debate" can go fuck right off.
I'll just go there, enjoy the games, take a few pics of the better cosplayers and have a good time. I doubt that this particular convention is big enough to be poisoned by either side, thankfully.
You kidding? These cons are full of cosplayers. There's bound to be at least a few hotties amongst them. If I don't snap at least two pics of steaming hot Harley Quinns, it will be a wasted two days.
Yeah...sure...that will totally happen. Brilliant deduction. Keep it up Sherlock. Given what I wrote here, that is totally the only conclusion anyone can possibly arrive to.
Oh we all know your secret plans.
It's just something you're saying, while the real plan is to sex all the girls, get them pregnant, and then take all the child support money from all these poor young mothers
And then you use all that money to buy and try the games you never got to see there.

Almost. I plan to blackmail their families to keep the lovechild a secret so their friends would never know about the little scamps in the for-profit orphanage run by my ex wife as a money laundering scheme.
Let me just say that after the Origins debacle, this looks awesome. The presentation was mostly about a Scarecrow mission, rescuing some hostages. The freeflow combat now has environmental takedowns, which look nice. No new gadgets as far as I could see and they tried to pass old things off as new (combat specialist enemies, which are basically the assassins from AC, or the ability to select a new grapple target mid-grapple which was already possible IIRC). The rest was a Batmobile showcase. Afterburner, weapons, remote control, etc. But overall it looks effin amazing.
Then I went to the Occulus booth. They had some kiddie platformer, the Alien game and Eve Valkeryie. Of course it was on a "you play what's free" basis, so I had to play the platformer...
Still, the 3D and head tracking was very good, no latency whatsoever.
Also, when I say that this was one of the better cosplays, you can guess the rest.
There was also one decent Lara Croft and a very nice Harley Quinn, but I couldn't get a pic of them in the crowd. Well, there was also Jingles with this replica stormtrooper armor. That required more money than skill to get, so I disqualified him.
Then I went to see the Witcher3 demo. Holy shit that looks awesome.
The world looks enormous, and the dialogues and quests are still very much the same Witcher formula. I kept myself in the dark up to this point, so I don't know if they've been revealed yet...but...holy mother of shit, the 'Ladies' are awesome and terrifying at the same time. So grotesque that they would feel right at home in a Lovecraft novel.
They also had a very cute girl playing the game on stage, so that was a definite plus in my book.
Ok, this next picture...I'll spoiler it, for two reasons.
First, it's because you can see my ugly mug on it. First time I showed it around here.
And second, so that maybe fewer heads would explode in jealousy.
Spoiler:
You guys won't believe it. I was at the Elite booth. Started to wonder if maybe Braben would show up...I turn to the first guy wearing the official tshirts...HOLY SHIT IT'S DAVID BRABEN!!!
As for the game, I had to queue up twice. First was two regular digfights against a Sidewinder, then another one against two. Given that this was my first ever go at the game and I only used a joystick twice in my life, I was a bit happy when the guy said that I make it look easy.
The second queue was for the occulus version. Holy shit it was awesome. The feel of the cockpit was perfect, and looking at the enemy while still turning the ship towards it, slowly tilting my head back as my crosshairs line up...I will definitely buy it when it's finished (the Occulus, Elite is already preordered which the demo guys were very happy to hear ).
The rest were little demos here and there. I managed to play Valkerie at their official booth. Not nearly as engaging as Elite was.
Played a bit of War Thunder, since they were showcasing the PS3-4 version. Oh boy, it was awkward and uncomfortable. Fuck controllers, fuck them up the arse.
I also saw the TW-Attila booth, but they closed the queue by the time I got to it. Maybe tomorrow I give it a look.
I also successfully crashed the Gratuitous Space Battles 2 on display, while the dev was nowhere to be seen.
And I tried out the War for the Overworld demo. Yeah. It's pretty much Dungeon Keeper. But they definitley have a long way to go.
Hope to see the Introversion guys tomorrow, and check out a few other shit I couldn't be bothered with today (mostly AAA shite).
Second and final of my days is done. It was only the afternoon, so not much new stuff. Plus I've seen most of what I wanted the first day.
Started by queuing up for the TW booth. It was about an hour, and they allowed us to play a battle. Certainly feels like TW, but it's impossible to determine if they fixed anything since Rome2. So nothing to report there.
Then I queueed up for a third go with Elite.
I can't get enough of that thing. Managed to get an Occulus stand. Asked if they have a hyperspace jump demo in the build they were showing...nope. The guy agreed it would have been fucking amazing with the Rift. Ended up in a 3-on-1 fight against a Cobra. Couldn't take it out in time with just machine guns, even with wingmen. Still was awesome as always.
Cosplayers were more numerous today. Some were good.
Some were ok-to-meh...
And some were...
Went by the War Thunder stand again today, now they had an Occulus ready.
It is very much in development, the crosshair was bugged so I couldn't hit anything, but the cockpit view was nothing if not mother fucking GLORIOUS.
Also took two rides in this thing. It ran Project Cars. Rumble seat, force feedback wheel, loudspeakers in the seat...it was pretty amazing. The first run had rain, it was very slippery, the second time went better, I wasn't last.
And the obligatory celeb selfie. Chris Delay, the big guy at Introversion.
