*shakes fist* That's some perfect trolling
To be fair though, it's not even his fault, apart from choosing a suspicious name, that is. It's the gaming medias that became all excited over a fabrication of their imagination.
The game does look good indeed, but I hope it's possible to disable all those silly wallhacks and magical visions that ruin the atmosphere.

Tried the 3rd on PS2 but the controls and camera were so bad that I didn't get pas the first mission.
Now for the question. I know these games are heavy on story (with hours of exposition) but what I want to know is: will I be able to follow the plot if I havn't played the last 3 games? |
I think you'll be able to follow it, but as always happens with Kojima's games, there will be countless of recurring references/inside "jokes" that one can grasp only if has familiarity with the whole series. (Personally I've played 1,2 and 3, but not MG4 since I've never owned a console)
Speaking of MGS3 though, if you don't like the default camera, you can download the Subsistence version which comes with a standard third person camera, along with the fixed one. If you have a PC powerful enough, the PCSX2 can handle it like a boss =)

if you dont feel like playing all the mgs games, you could play peace walker in preparation, either with psp emu or through the 360/ps3 hd collection, as phantom pain is pretty much a sequel to it, not only in story but also regarding many gameplay aspects (going on separate missions, fultoning characters, mother base etc.).
peace walker did away with long cutscenes and hours of exposition, and is definitely one of the best paced games in the series, phantom pain seems to be going in the same direction.

They have said you can disable marking and the slow down effect with the "hardcore" mode or something along those lines. They mention that in one of the earlier mission walkthrough.

Is Peace Walker confirmed to work with PPSSPP? Or is there a better emu for psp?

I'll pirate it too. But let's not be hypocritical here and say "this is great, a MGS game is coming later on PC and that's great!" and "fuck you `r*`, you fucked us again by being late." It;s exactly the same shit.

uhm i'm under the impression this game is coming at the same time as PS4
anything else has not been confirmed and judging by the 2015 release day i'd say it will all come out at the same time.

well, if pc version comes 2-3 months later, then its fine, gta 5 pc version is coming 1,5 years after original release, so thats a bit different.

No, the PC version is coming 2 months after the next-gen release, as PC is the next-gen platform.
Unless PS4 and XBO versions were also "delayed"
Just imagine how furious people would be if the PC got the last-gen version, and a year later a PS4 and XBO next-gen exclusive GTA V

I think Kojima mentioned in an interview on Gamescom that PC versions will come later, but PC will still get Ground Zeroes before Phantom Pain. My guess is that the PC version of Ground Zeroes will be released alongside XBO/PS4 versions of Phantom Pain, and for the PC release of PP we'll have to wait a couple of months.

well we should be realistic, what are the chances of japanese devs releasing a non-broken pc version without delays?
there is only one good jap dev who can into pc (falcom), but their focus has always been pc, and turbografx/pcengine in early 90s, so it doesnt count.
besides, there is no officially announced date, so all the talk about a delay is premature.
