@rubim

I didn't get them all at once, silly Very Happy I read your instructions and opened one chest, turned in, ran back for the other, repeat... but since I already *had* a bunch of books from the previous 12 hours of play, the game may have gone a bit squiffy about adding duplicates. Either way, any books I pick up now just vanish whether they're trash books or quest books.

This is... meh. Hopefully it's not going to break anything, so I'll keep an eye on it. I know two "quest" books are gone though; the diary from The Grey House and the Archaeologists Notebook. Neither of which appeared in my inventory.

i've only got the stutter once and never again, despite disabling depth of field again (eye strain headache due to blur from depth of field was jut unbearable)

It was the exact stutter someone posted the vid about, and it happend in the first area when you are a child.

I've gotten as far as the second town so far, after you escort the merchants, and never got the stutter again. Weird stuff happening in this game. Neutral

Game grew, despite having the feeling of a "baby's first rpg".

Out of the three merchants I had to escort, only 1 survived. It was pretty intense as the bandits went directly for them ignoring me most of the time.

There's a couple of hidden quests by talking to NPC's you meet but the things that take time is solving the demon doors and finding all buried treasures or winning the various challenges.
(Like digging up the plate mail helmets and certain legendary weapons.)

Main quest itself is fairly short, it's taken me around 11 hours so far and I just have one final quest left for the "The Lost Chapters" part of the game though I've only done some of the side quests.
(You do get some more renown that way and some quests like the Hobbe Killing Contest one can disappear if you progress too far into the main storyline but it's just another trophy item and you get legendary renown status easily enough even if you ignore all side quests.)

EDIT: Also without cheating I believe the amount of silver keys is limited to ~30 or so which means you have to choose which chests to open (Higher numbers like the one for 25 keys in the hero guild usually contain better reward.) there's also a A-Hole demon door in the TLC part of the game you have to sacrifice ALL held silver keys to (Losing them permanently.) before it will open.

Happened during the ring fight in oakvale.

Alt tabbed back and forth, stutter gone.

Can't even figure out what causes it. Philosopheraptor

Ah I couldn't remember and I've been saving them but if that's how it works then it's pretty simple, find/open all chests and then feed that door. Very Happy

Disable depth of field in Wellingtonsystemsettings, clears the horrible blur right up, then you can enable MSAA and set multisamples to 4 or 8.

I actually grew to like the colors when disabling depth of field a lot more.

They fit in with the cartoonish nature of the game.

and adding 4x sgssaa on top, just makes the game gorgeous, despite it being techically outdated. Everything Went Better Than Expected

Just got to twinbaldes camp after 14 hours.

You can't, as far as I know .. and you can't even go "back" if you accidentally press A/accept/whatever and accept a quest without taking boasts.

Supposedly they've got a fix for the freezing/stuttering stuff and will be deploying it tomorrow.

Tried the game out of curiosity, and sadly, as expected, even with all the tricks applied, the annoying stuttering was still omnipresent. Add to that the sluggish mouse controls, bad interface and a camera that for some reasons gave me motion sickness. Crying or Very sad At least the new models are nice, and so are the environments, even though it's not exactly a night&day kind of improvement.

"Thankfully" I replayed Fable just a few months before the HD announcement (PC) and the memory is still very fresh, so I can shift-delete this shoddy port with no regrets. Razz (hoping for some future *proper* patching, which is truly needed)

Beta patch is out, bringing lots of fixes;

http://steamcommunity.com/app/288470/discussions/0/613936039619507248/

Quote:

Firstly can I just say a massive thank you for all your feedback so far, we really appreciate your help and patience with these issues. We are working flat out to get as many fixes in as possible.

We’ve finished building the next update and hopefully it’s going to help a lot of people. It’s just gone midnight here so we have yet to give it a thorough test but if you guys are interested you can grab it from beta branch now. If everything looks good I’ll update the main game tomorrow.

To get the Beta enabled you need to right click on Fable Anniversary in your library and go to Properties -> Betas. You should see the beta_build option in the drop down list from there.
Please post comments below and let us know if you tested it and if it fixed your issue or not.

Fixes include:

  • Freezing issue with Apex/Cloth (Will Users outfit, hair and some bandits)
  • Freezing in Oakvale at the start of the game
  • Creature spawns fixed - troll should appear outside hobbe cave now and hard mode will be harder
  • Added more options to the keyboard remapping – you can remap mouse controls now
----(One known issue – if you remap Spell Mode or Attract Exp Orbs away from Shift you won’t be able to get both of them back on the same key – we will fix this tomorrow)
  • Fixed the Depth of Field – fixes the blurriness
  • Fixed a crash on startup for users that had redirect their My Documents folder on Windows 8

Thanks
Craig
