Summary:
Star Wars Battlefront II takes the best-selling Star Wars video game of all time one Imperial-walker step forward with all-new space combat, playable Jedi, and never-before-seen environments straight out of the Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith film. Fans of the original Star Wars Battlefront will also enjoy an all-new single-player experience that takes players through an epic, story-based saga where every action the player takes impacts the battlefront and, ultimately, the fate of the Star Wars galaxy. Critically acclaimed Pandemic Studios is once again developing the game for LucasArts.
Features:
* Star Wars Battlefront II improves upon the original game’s single-player experience with open-ended, mission-based objectives inspired from all six Star Wars films. The compelling storyline spans more than 12 new locations, many from Episode III, including volcanic Mustafar and the space battle above Coruscant. All-new classic movie moments complete the Star Wars Battlefront II experience, as players battle within the interior of the Death Star and visit Princess Leia’s blockade runner, the Tantive IV, as seen at the beginning of Episode IV A New Hope. In addition, at certain key moments within the battles, players can feel the Force as a Jedi.
* For the first time ever, Star Wars Battlefront II players can engage in space combat and, during the same battle, board enemy ships to attack from within. Starting on foot inside a capital ship, players can enter the spacecraft of their choice and travel into space to dogfight with the rival faction. From there, they can dock within the enemy’s capital ship, overtake the ship’s command posts, man its turrets to disable its shields and destroy it from within! Or, they can simply stay inside their own capital ship and defend it from attacks and enemy fire. The choice is theirs.
* The stellar online play that marked the original Star Wars Battlefront returns even bigger and better for Star Wars Battlefront II. Players can locate their buddies and track their stats as they battle alongside more players than ever.

Any system-link or splitscreen options?
I believe the first one had both.

Is it a better single-player game than the first one? Does it have a real single-player campaign now or is it still just a boring bot match in single-player?

Since nobody is talking about it i will. I just started the training on elite and it is nice I did like the first one but what dissappointed me was that the system link on one xbox was only limited to two players. but now hahahaha it has full four player support and that is a good thing now me and my friends could put down halo and pick this up know. yes finally. i haven't tried the so called single player part though. when i do i will report back. I do like this game.

Haha this game gets a lot better the more I play.
I really like the targetting system so you can tell who you're fighting, and for the improved starship battles.
The JEDI are much more fun than I thought, they are extremely powerful, yet not invincible. And Darth Vader is just awesome the way he flies around, lol.
Prolly pick this one up for PC.

And u would think alot of game developers who make FPS would leave out 4player systemlink on one xbox. that is why i'm gonna buy call of duty 2 for PC instead of getting it for the xbox because part 1 only had 1player on xbox for system link. even serious sam which good have been good only has 4 offline and 4 player system. when will they learn. but battlefronts 2 is amazing gonna be playing this for a long while.

Yo peeps
Lets say I buy this game but I don't have xbox live {modded}. I don't really want to buy xbox live for the xbox because I'm getting an xbox360 +live.
So My question is... will this be a one of those backward compatable games for the xbox360...has anybody heard anything!
I really don't feel like addin a switch to my xbox and paying for a xbox live subsciption.
I guess I could get this for the PC...if it would run problery

this game is 100 times better than the first one it has a solid one player game that is varied and fun to play , im enjoying it a lot
As for framerate, the 360 version runs smooth, while the PS3 is a jaggy mess that chugs along in slow motion.

Could you please tell a bit more about the single-player mode? How does it work? Is it not just a simple bot match? |
You get objectives like:
Defend this area for such a time.
Go over there and storm that place.
Destroy that object.
Go fetch that random thing and bring it back over here.
Spawn as the Jedi and slaughter some stuff.
Take that vehicle over there and go dominate.
Stuff like that.. but yah all the players are bots of course. But there are objectives around each map. Little indicators help point you along the way if you get lost or forget what you're doing.

Hmm sounds pointless and cheap. Why couldn't they make a proper single-player part like a Mercenaries with Star Wars flavour for example?

yeah thats true killerklan, what I did find as I played further into this was that the singleplayer AI could have done with a little more work the last 2 single player missions that I played had some really strange occururences involving the cpu players in them.
On the space fight above Kasshyk its almost like your fighting the last part of the mission single handed I watched as 10-15 bots stood in the hangar doing literally nothing when they should have been taking ships out and attacking the opposing force. I had to fly a ship solo into the hangar battle my way through the whole of the cpu side destroying 2 tactical objectives and stealing a crystal before flying back out on one of their own crafts. Would have been nice to have some support.
On another mission I stood and watched as 10 or so bots stood around an objective that they should have been attacking, I can only presume that they had run out of ammo in which case it would have been nice to see the engineer amongst them seek out and repair an ammo droid and the rest of the squad use it to collect ammmo then proceed with destroying the objective.
I still like it mind just think its gonna be predominatly played in multiplayer mode at my end due to some of the AI in single player campaign mode, I haven't tryed skirmish mode yet but if the bots are around the same as they were in the first game thats good enough for me.

You guys know you can give a follow command by pointing at a bot and pressing up on the D-pad, right? He'll stick to you like glue..
